Takes a big step up in trip following defeat at this track over 1m2½f/1m4f. Course winner previously and worth a check in the market now racing 5lb lower than last winning mark.

Yet to hit the frame in five career starts. Hard to make a case for at present and first time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here.

Five-time winner at this track and landed a 50/1 shock at the Curragh in the summer. Last seen here over 1m4f in September and more needed stepping up in trip.

Lightly raced gelding, winner over C&D in 2016. Ran well on first start for over two years when beaten 4L over 1m2f earlier this month on this surface. Infrequent visits to the track will not be helping the gelding to progress in the game.

Has bounced back to form in a couple of starts over 1m4f since September. Looks a progressive type as the gelding steps up in trip here.

Modest 77-rated handicapper for trainer John Ryan winner of two of his 18 career starts. Has left the yard of Damian English following a couple of dismal efforts recently and best watched in the market on stable debut.

103-rated handicap hurdler without a win over timber in 12 starts. Not seen on the level since finishing down the field in a Down Royal handicap over 1m5f in September 2017. Looks easy to oppose.

More recently seen over timber where the son of Nathaniel is a 104-rated handicap hurdler. Fourth of seven over C&D in March and likely to find one or two better handicapped sort lurking.

Taken across the water to win for the first time on two years when landing a Wolverhampton handicap over a similar trip in October. Beaten at Newcastle on Saturday and looks up against it here.

Improved on a number of dismal efforts on turf over the summer when running with credit over 1m2f and 1m4f at this venue last month. Takes a big step up in trip but hard to rule out.

Verdict

CACIQUE ROYALE can win for the first time at this venue at the fourth attempt. The four-year-old has gone close on both his most recent starts over 1m4f and can get the better of the hat-trick seeking Power Drive who makes his stable debut here for Paul Flynn since his switch from trainer Damian English. Top weight Ciao for trainer Gavin Cromwell appears next best while City Limits, in first time blinkers and Saga Bolton would not surprise with improved efforts.
