Last win came at Newcastle in September but couldn't handle 7lb rise when down the field at York (1m6f) in October. Work to do off current mark for new trainer.
Steady improving sort and continued that progression when keeping-on second at Kempton (1m3f) last time. Markedly up in trip but looked to be crying for test in stamina.
Three-time winner and took advantage of an easy contest to win at Southwell (1m4f) on latest start. This is deeper but progressive and not to be dismissed. Runs on polytrack for the first time.
Lightly-raced sort who has won twice. Placed in both handicap starts to date, including when third at Kempton (1m4f) last time. Handicap mark is lenient and is a matter of time before he strikes in this sphere.
Irish raider. Ran out a game winner at Dundalk two starts ago before running admirable second at that venue in 2m handicap. Proven stayer and holds leading claims for a top yard.
Solid performer and course winner in the past. Made it two wins on the bounce with staying on victory at Kempton (2m) last time. This is tougher and may be on the short side but respected.
Latest win came at Pontefract in September but not as good in two starts since. Latest sixth at Kempton leaves a bit to find on form so best watched in this contest.
Improving sort who got off the mark at Kempton two starts and progressed again to win at that track (1m4f) 12 days ago. Steps up in trip but well-placed for another solid effort.
Three from 10 this year. Bounced back from poor Yarmouth effort with comfortable victory at Southwell (1m4f) in November. This is much tougher though so will need more.
Forecasts
Good Tidings (10/3), Grandmaster Flash (4/1), Ballylemon (9/2), Creationist (5/1), Bo Samraan (6/1), Deal A Dollar (11/1), Sweet Celebration (14/1), Pianissimo (16/1), Blowing Dixie (20/1)
A trappy-looking contest, it is hard to ignore Irish raider GRANDMASTER FLESH, who was a game winner two starts ago before two miles just proved too far last time. Back at this trip, which looks optimum, he looks to be well placed off his handicap mark by his trainer. Sweet Celebration has been incredibly progression and has showed likabilities that she will stay the trip, while the likes of Bo Samraan and Good Tidings should be winning again off their marks sometime soon, although the latter will need to settle better at this trip.
- Grandmaster Flash
- Sweet Celebration
- Good Tidings
