Improved since coming back from a summer break winning twice in handicaps on the first occasion defeating Rubytwo who runs earlier on the card. Followed up unpenalised at Hexham; hit with an 8lb rise in her attempt to complete a hat-trick.
As yet he's yet to really build on what was some fairly useful bumper form over hurdles with his form in this sphere hard to assess including from his handicap debut when returning to action. Dropped 3lb for a modest effort, this run may reveal more.
Given his form on the Flat over the summer it was surprising he couldn't do better when returning to hurdles here over a shorter trip. Had fitness on his side plus the run of the race; claims off the same mark but chance may have passed.
Didn't really press forward in a couple of novice hurdles after her bumper debut but did shape a lot better than her finishing position suggests when making her handicap debut. Worth another chance in this sphere over slightly shorter trip.
Appeared to improve a little on his previous outings when up in trip last time at Wetherby although he was well positioned within the contest. Probably got a mark a little higher than he wanted/needed as a result; enters handicaps for the first time.
Winner over fences when given a chance by the handicapper but his jumping has always been rather ragged in that sphere (has let him down of late; fell last time). Reverts to hurdles for a confidence boost; yet to win over timber, others more likely.
Failed to win in Ireland when with Henry De Bromhead but scored in two GB point-to-points in 2017 before spending a long time off. Fairly limited form since returning under Rules (behind two of these rivals) last time; visor needs to make an impact.
Up in trip for her handicap debut (2m4f) she showed some progress when finishing fourth at Musselburgh (needed to jump better). Nowhere near that form when returning from a nine-month break; needs to show more to be involved over a new trip.
Failed to show much in his first two handicaps before running well last time but failing to lay a hand on the runaway winner Calivigny (scored over fences again since). Pulled clear of the rest; down 1lb, entitled to improve again over this trip.
Failed to score in point-to-points from 13 starts and hasn't for the most part fared any better in three novice hurdles on soft/heavy ground starting at 100-1 plus each time. Mark going into handicaps doesn't look generous; one of the lesser lights.
Ran as well as she ever has in a 3m slog last time at Newcastle a course where she has been seen at her best over hurdles. Appears better since being fitted with blinkers; no guarantee she can match that form; closely matched with Farlam King.
Caught the eye on a few occasions albeit only in very modest handicaps and only narrowly touched off last time by one who has won again since. Overall record now reads 0-14, hard to rule out totally for a yard who continue to outperform the market.
Much better since this headgear combination was introduced finishing second over hurdles here (2m4f) before giving two solid chase displays resulting in a win at Sedgefield last time. Appeared to enjoy that test (3m2f), could be vulnerable here.
Has a significant absence to overcome having never won a race (0-11). Fifth of a 1lb higher mark in a Perth handicap when last seen looking as though he needed a real stamina test; would have to be fully tuned up to have a chance.
Forecasts
No Trumps (2/1), Skyhill (4/1), Chosen Flame (13/2), Farlam King (9/1), Big Bad Dream (11/1), Put The Law On You (14/1), Classical Sound (20/1), Elle Est Grande (20/1), Our Cilla (22/1), Graystown (22/1), A Ladies Milan (25/1), Southeast Rose (25/1), Tailspin (33/1), On We Go (66/1)
Even with an 8lb impost for her last two wins No Trumps will be the first port of call for many here especially if the one she vanquished last time (Rubytwo) has managed to win or run well in the 1.45 on the card. There are a few lurking at the foot of the handicap in this though that may be able to make use of the weight they receive with CHOSEN FLAME a good second last time out albeit at a respectable distance the pick of the bunch with the one that defeated him running out a good winner since. Farlam King and Our Cilla who clashed at Newcastle last time and are closely matched should be involved again along with Skyhill who reverts to hurdles, he may just prefer a stiffer test though.
- Chosen Flame
- No Trumps
- Our Cilla
