Unraced gelded son of Scorpion purchased for €13,000 as a four-year-old in 2017. Dam an unraced close relative of multiple winner Bullock Harbour and he is worth a check in the market on debut.

Promising effort in finishing 2¼L fourth in a bumper over 2m at Worcester (good-to-soft) when making his debut in October. Form of that is working out well (sixth and eighth have both won since) and he is one to note in this contest.

Unraced Stowaway gelding cost connections €55,000 when purchased as a three-year-old in June last year. Dam a winner over hurdles and market support would be notable on debut.
Unraced Malinas gelding bought for €12,000 as a foal. Dam a useful bumper/hurdles performer and he is an interesting runner on racecourse debut.

Unraced gelded son of Arctic Cosmos purchased for €5,500 as a three-year-old. Half-brother to multiple winner Zolfo and wears a tongue tie on debut.
Sent off favourite but ultimately finished 42L ninth in a similar race to this on soft ground when making his debut just over a month ago. Interesting to see how he performs on this occasion.
Unraced Yeats gelding sold for €48,000 as a three-year-old. Dam a useful performer over hurdles and fences and he is of interest for a top yard on his racecourse debut.

Well held in two starts to date including when 31L sixth over an extended 2m at Bangor (good) in April. Others make more appeal on seasonal debut.

Forecasts

Mortlach (13/8), Cadmar (3/1), A Large One Please (13/2), Drift Rock (8/1), Conceal (9/1), Mighty Meg (12/1), Lamanver Storm (20/1), Ardbruce (25/1), Hardy Articos (33/1), Lazy Sunday (50/1), Girl Powre (66/1)

Verdict

CADMAR ran well in a decent looking bumper first time out and with that experience under his belt he can get off the mark at the second time of asking in the concluding bumper race. Mortlach hails from a top yard and he can finish runner-up ahead of fellow unraced performer A Large One Please who was a relatively expenisve purchase at the sales.
  1. Cadmar
  2. Mortlach
  3. A Large One Please
