Popular course winning veteran, still running well in defeat in a number of starts since May. Losing run stretches back to 2017 but the gelding has record of three from nine here and a bold bid stepping up to this trip is not out of the question.

Smart juvenile for Charlie Hills, but failed to hit the heights last year, and only eighth on debut for new yard in the Group 3 Gladness Stakes in April. Looks an interesting recruit to this surface.

Off the mark here over C&D in the early part of last month before a fruitless trip to Wolverhampton on Monday finishing a well held fourth of seven when sent off the 15/8f. Capable of bouncing back here.

Put a number of disappointing efforts behind her when winning over 7f on AW debut in October off a 5lb lower mark. Not disgraced in Listed company over C&D early last month and can go well at a price.

Verdict

The veteran Gordon Lord Byron is likely to take the field along in the early stages given his berth in stall one. The 11-year-old steps up in trip here following a fine effort to finish second of 13 beaten ¾L behind Geological early last month but may set the race up for potential closers in the shape of the Jim Bolger-trained THEOBALD who can land his fourth win over C&D. The Ger Lyons-trained Kafu will appreciate a trip he won over at the end of October off a 6lb lower mark and can mount a serious challenge along with fellow C&D winners, Geological who is on a four-timer, Innamorare, subject of a wayward gamble at Wolverhampton on Monday and Trading Point for trainer Damien English.
