Scored at Beverley (1m2f) back in April but has been disappointing since then, including on his AW debut at Kempton (1m2f) where he came back last of 13 runners. Will need to improve on recent form on his second shot at this surface.

His sole success came on the turf here over 1m3½f very early into his career. He returned to the AW surface at Dundalk (1m) last time when he was seventh of 14 after going off at 50/1. Remains off the same mark. Others are preferred.

Was a winner here over 1m2f back in January but since then she has been unable to add to her tally, despite 14 attempts. She was fourth of 14 on her latest run at this track (1m2f). Up in trip now. Will need to prove her stamina.

Has had a very disappointing year so far. His form has not improved either since switching yards in August. He came back at the rear of 14 runners at this course (1m2f) on his last start. Needs to improve.

Picked up the second win of his career at Brighton (1m4f) on his penultimate start where he justified going off as the 5/2 favourite. Could only finish fourth of 12 last time at Windsor (1m3½f). One to think about.

Enjoys racing at this course as he has prevailed here on four occasions, including a C&D success back in February. He finished third of 15 over this C&D last time out. Remains off the same mark now. Worth consideration.

Is still a maiden after 20 starts. She has come close on a number of appearances this year, although she was a little disappointing on her latest effort when she was sixth of nine on the AW at Kempton (1m3f). Has been eased 2lb. Can't discount.

Scored for the first time on the AW at Kempton (1m4f) on his latest start over this distance where he was staying on well inside the closing stages. Has been raised 4lb by the handicapper. Big player to follow up.

Still searching for his first win after four starts. He was much better last time though on his handicap debut when he was third of 10 runners at Southwell (1m4f) after going off at 33/1. Has been eased 2lb. In with an each-way chance.

Lightly-raced filly who got off the mark at the fifth attempt last time at Wolverhampton (1m4f) where she stayed on well at the end of the race. Has been raised 4lb in the weights. One to consider.

Yet to get off the mark in 26 attempts. She has finished runner up on seven occasions, including two runs ago at Kempton (1m4f) when she was just ¾L away. Remains off a workable mark. One for the shortlist.

Was a winner at Nottingham (1m2f) back in April but has not followed that up since. Has hit the frame on three of his last four starts, although he could only finish fifth of 12 on his latest run at Chelmsford (1m6f). Big player over this trip.

Has won just twice in 46 outings. His last success came at this track on turf over the extended 1m3f trip in August 2018. Was disappointing on his latest effort at Kempton (1m4f) where he was 12th of 13. Has been eased 3lb but others are preferred.

Dual-purpose gelding who won at this course in a 2m contest back in March. His form recently has been poor, including when he was 10th of 12 on the turf course here (2m½f). Needs to produce more to be in the mix.

Remains a maiden after seven appearances. Has shown very few signs that his first success is close. He came back at the rear of an 11 runner field at Southwell (1m) on his latest effort. Others appeal much more.

Age: 8|  Weight: 8-10| J: Gavin Ashton(7)| T: S L Keightley| OR:  45| D

Very experienced gelding who is without a win since July 2017. Finished fifth of nine at Southwell (1m4f) on his last start. Has been eased 3lb to a new career low mark which will make it easier, however, others make a greater appeal.

Forecasts

Ignatius (7/2), Mrs Ivy (9/2), Banta Bay (5/1), King Athelstan (7/1), Mistress Nellie (8/1), Be Fair (11/1), Music Major (11/1), Famous Dynasty (14/1), Highway One (14/1), Narjes (16/1), Petra's Pony (25/1), Cross Step (33/1), Burguillos (33/1), Tyrsal (50/1), Sea's Aria (50/1), Glacier Fox (66/1)

Verdict

BANTA BAY was successful over this trip at Kempton on his latest start and he can follow it up here to defy his 4lb rise in the weights as the way he finished the race last time suggests there could be much more to come. Mrs Ivy broke her maiden at Wolverhampton on her latest appearance and she should go close to a back-to-back success, while Mistress Nellie is worth taking to hit the frame as she has been running consistently well recently without recording a victory.
  1. Banta Bay
  2. Mrs Ivy
  3. Mistress Nellie
