A C&D winner who often produces his best performances at this track. He went very close over this C&D last time out when he was second of 11, beaten by just a neck. Remains off the same mark. Leading contender.
Was successful at Southwell (6f) back in February but has not followed that up since. He could only finish ninth of 11 on his latest attempt at Southwell (7f). Is now 7lb lower than his last winning mark so is worth respecting.
Both of his two wins came early in his career. Came close to success on his last start over this C&D though, when he was third of 11, beaten by just 1L. Has been eased 1lb in the weights. One for the shortlist.
Broke her maiden two starts back when she scored at Newcastle (1m) on the AW. Was unable to follow it up at this course over the extended 1m trip as she was seventh of nine. Needs to bounce back from latest effort.
Yet to prevail in 12 attempts. She has come close on a number of occasions this year though, including when she was second of eight at Chelmsford (6f), beaten by a nose. Last time out at Kempton (7f) she was fourth of 12. One to think about.
Is still a maiden after nine appearances. She has been well held recently, with her latest outing coming at Yarmouth (7f) where she was 9¼L behind in fourth place of 11. Has been eased 3lb and returns to the AW. Best to watch.
Lightly-raced filly who has yet to score in four runs. She made her handicap debut at Ffos Las (1m) last time where she was 10th of 14. Set for her opening appearance for her new yard here. Others make more of an appeal.
Recorded the fifth success of his career on his penultimate start at Chelmsford (7f) where he made all. Was unable to follow that up last time at the same course (1m) as he was 11th of 14. Needs to bounce back but can't be discounted.
Was on the right side of a close finish at Chelsmford (6f) back in August when she scored by a nose. Her form since then has dipped. She came home at the rear of a nine runner field on her latest outing at Chelsmford (6f). Others stand out more.
Experienced gelding who has won seven times in his career so far. His latest success came on the AW at Newcastle (7f) last time out in a 12 runner field. Has gone up 3lb in the weights for that victory. One to consider.
Is on a losing stretch which dates back to November 2015. Has not fared too badly at this track recently, although he could only finish ninth of 12 at this track (1m½f) on his latest effort. Drops down in trip now. Others are preferred.
Remains a maiden after 20 starts. Has hit the frame on a couple of occasions over this C&D this year, however, she was a disappointing eighth place of 12 last time at Newcastle (1m). Others appeal much more.
Forecasts
Elena Osorio (4/1), Steal The Scene (9/2), With Approval (13/2), Brockey Rise (15/2), Bobby Joe Leg (9/1), Reasoned (10/1), Maid Millie (10/1), The King's Steed (10/1), Puchita (20/1), Miss Bates (22/1), Newstead Abbey (40/1), Aquarius (40/1)
BROCKEY RISE was unlucky not to score once again at this track last time out as he was beaten by just a neck over this C&D. He can make up for that near miss here off this same mark. With Approval was a winner over this distance at Newcastle on his latest appearance and should once again be a strong player at the finish, while Bobby Joe Leg has to be fancied to fill the placings following his close third place finish over this C&D last time.
- Brockey Rise
- With Approval
- Bobby Joe Leg
