Ex John Gosden (sold for £26,000 in May); returns to the AW seeking a breakthrough success after an unsuccessful foray over hurdles.

Predictably struggled when sent off at odds of 125-1 on AW debut at Newcastle (1m4f novice) last month; better judged once sent handicapping; not one for today.

100/1
Tailed-off on bumper debut and well beaten in two subsequent starts on the Flat (7f-1m); is very difficult to enthuse over; readily opposed.

Zebedee gelding; 10-1 when fifth of eight to The Met on debut at Wolverhampton (7f) a fortnight ago; thought likely to improve for that initial racecourse experience.

9/2
Left Roger Varian for £18,000 in August; out of his depth on recent debut for Ollie Pears at Newcastle (1m) and it'll come as a surprise if he can reverse placings with the clear form pick Millicent Fawcett.

66/1
Helmet filly (3,500gns foal); slowly away and never on terms when last of seven on debut in a 7f maiden fillies' contest at Wolverhampton (66-1) 31 days ago; rates as an unlikely candidate.

4/11
Kingman filly, half-sister to the useful Richard Pankhurst; turned over at odds of 8-13f (today's rival Mosakhar behind) on recent return from a six-month absence at Newcastle (1m); sets the clear form standard nevertheless.

Forecasts

Millicent Fawcett (4/11), Mosakhar (9/2), Momtalik (10/1), Abwab (14/1), Memory Hill (16/1), Highland Sun (66/1), Berties Mission (100/1)

Verdict

MILLICENT FAWCETT didn't exactly catch the eye in the paddock on her recent return to action at Newcastle, and was duly turned over at short odds by the Roger Varian-trained Qamka (today's rival Mosakhar behind in third). That said, she should be taking this race with relative ease if handling the switch to Fibresand with her short-head debut second to Quick (Newbury) head and shoulders above anything that these rivals are ever likely to be able to achieve.
  1. Millicent Fawcett
  2. Mosakhar
  3. Memory Hill
