Now 2lb lower than when winning a 7f handicap here in December, but below that form on all starts this season, albeit possibly in need of the run on stable debut here last time.

Scored over C&D in August, and over 1m at Brighton in September. Below for last time, and profile is rather patchy, but knows how to win, and he has claims if putting his best foot forward.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-7| J: Charles Bishop| T: D J Coakley| OR:  72
8/1
Bounced back from a couple of poor runs when head third of 13 to Sea Fox at Wolverhampton last time. Barely 1L covered the first five home that day, so it can't be considered strong form, and a wide draw makes life tough here.

Below form the last twice, but excuses can be found, and previous form stacks up well in this company. Has had wind surgery since last run in July, and she is taken to bounce back.

Well held in soft ground last time, but two good runs prior to that in blinkers having had a breathing operation, and no surprise to see him get back on track.

Wingreen9
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5| J: G Mosse| T: Martin Smith| OR:  70
25/1
Started with William Haggas, and had just one run for Ralph Beckett before joining current yard, and needs to improve on sixth of 9 to Wemyss Ware at Chelmsford, for all she was not favoured by the way that race panned out.

Dormio19
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: David Egan| T: W S Kittow| OR:  67
10/1
Two wins to his name in Germany this year over 6f/7f for Henk Grewe. Found the trip too sharp on British debut at Bath, and steps up markedly in distance now. Market should guide.

Kyllachys Tale27
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-2| J: J Mitchell| T: R A Teal| OR:  65| D
8/1
Has run to a solid level on last four starts at this trip, her only modest run since July has been over shorter. Yard had a good winner at Newmarket on Saturday, and this mare makes the shortlist.

Hackle Setter41
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Jason Watson| T: S Kirk| OR:  67
9/2
Has fallen quickly in the weights since finishing a fair fifth here earlier in the year, but seems to be regressing, and needs to stop the rot to be able to take advantage of rails draw.

Horse silk
Earth And Sky10
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Harry Bentley| T: George Scott| OR:  67
20/1
Finished fourth to Logician in a novice at Newmarket in June, but has gone the wrong way since, and ran no better after wind surgery when tailed off at Doncaster ten days ago.

Run After Genesis51
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Rossa Ryan| T: B R Johnson| OR:  65| C
10/1
Won twice over 7f after wind surgery earlier in the season, including here, but he's been below form on his last few starts, and hard to fancy for all he may have needed the run after a break last time.

Ghazanp33
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-12| J: Gabriele Malune(3)| T: I Furtado| OR:  61
15/2
Remains a maiden and below form on recent starts, and while he has some excuses here last time when meeting interference, others look much more convincing.

Forecasts

Orange Suit (9/2), Hackle Setter (9/2), Ghazan (15/2), Sheila's Showcase (8/1), Pempie (8/1), Kyllachys Tale (8/1), Baashiq (8/1), Run After Genesis (10/1), Dormio (10/1), Earth And Sky (20/1), Wingreen (25/1), Kyllachy Dragon (25/1)

Verdict

PEMPIE has had a wind op since her disappointing effort at Sandown in July, and she had shown enough prior to that to suggest she should be up to winning a race like this, so gets the vote ahead of the reliable Kyllachys Tale. Dormio is hard to weigh up, but should improve on his debut for his current yard, and is one to note in the market.
  1. Pempie
  2. Kyllachys Tale
  3. Dormio
