150,000 gns yearling out of an unraced half-sister to Canford Cliffs. Matched debut form when fifth of 9 to Al Rufaa in a 7f novice at York last time. More needed, but experience should stand him in good stead.

Gelded son of Dandy Man out of a modest but well-related maiden. Didn't break the bank at €30,000, and others preferred in the absence of market clues.

Bred in the purple, his siblings including the dam of dual 2000 Guineas winner Churchill. Very green, but shaped well when fourth of 14 to Ten Year Ticket in a heavy-ground maiden at the Curragh ten days ago, and open to plenty of improvement now.
Zoffany half-brother to a Listed 1¼m winner. Too green to show anything on racecourse bow here recently, and may need more experience before he blossoms.
By Zoffany out of 1m2½f Listed winner Princess Loulou, who relished soft ground. Already gelded, but appeals on pedigree, and yard has produced some promising debutants of late.

Half-brother to connections' Musidora Stakes winner Nausha. Ran on well when third of 10 to Society Lion in a novice at Yarmouth (7f, heavy) recently. Likely to improve, and one to bear in mind.

Sir Percy half-brother to 1m winner Taty Dance. Yard gets the occasional winner on debut, but runners usually improve for a run, and others more appealing on paper.
Holy Roman Emperor colt who was sent off at big odds, but didn't shape too badly when seventh of 10 to Cobra Eye in a 6f maiden at Goodwood in July. Open to improvement, but has a 3-month absence to overcome.

Forecasts

Keats (4/6), Naizagai (9/2), Gold Desert (7/1), Louganini (10/1), Celestran (12/1), Big Wing (14/1), Wadi Al Sail (25/1), Johnny Utah (25/1), Prince Percy (66/1), Lord Warburton (100/1), Big Jimbo (100/1)

Verdict

KEATS is bred to be smart and looked a certain future winner when fourth at the Curragh ten days ago. He should improve enough to win this on his way to better things. Naizagai is just about the pick of those with experience and should get involved, but the biggest threat may be a newcomer, with Louganini making appeal on pedigree and from a yard which has produced a few promising newcomers this autumn.
  1. Keats
  2. Louganini
