Dawn Approach gelding, modest on the Flat but did finish second at Navan last time and should be ready to go for this first jumping test. Market will reveal plenty.

Decent third on second start over timber in juvenile hurdle at Ballinrobe (2m2f, good) last month was a fair step in the right direction. Drops in trip now.
Hasn't sparkled in three Flat maidens at up to 1m5f, so must improve for the switch to jumping if hoping to get competitive now.
Fair maiden on the Flat with Ger Lyons, in good hands now changing codes and commands a market check on first test over hurdles.

Fair performer on the Flat, winning at Cork in April over extended-mile from a mark of 72. Back from a break here and represents good yard, so will be one to pay attention to.

Poor maiden on the Flat, pulled up on hurdles bow at Ballinrobe (2m2f) last month having started at usual SP of 100-1. Easier to look elsewhere.

Of little account on the Flat and 50-1 when never threatening on jumps introduction at Punchestown this month. Represents top yard but doesn't appear to be a leading light.
Seven-race maiden on the Flat, mostly meeting with wide-margin defeats. Others have more going for them ahead of this first jumps outing.
Beaten more than 50L on hurdles bow at Punchestown this month, having been an unfancied 33-1 chance. May do better in time given trainer's record.
Ex-Jim Bolger maiden on the Flat, offered something to work with on stable/hurdling bow at Listowel last month when 5L fifth of 16 and interesting to see if he builds on that now.

Better than plenty of these on the Flat, hurdles introduction at Gowran Park this month didn't go to plan (hampered early) and may be worth another chance. Trainer also runs Isotope.
Finished third in juvenile hurdle at Gowran Park (2m, soft) on first foray in this sphere and the type to make further progress for Henry De Bromhead before long.
Glimpses of promise on some of the starts on the Flat but no real reason to see he will make an impression here on first hurdles start.

Has only beaten one horse home in three outings on the Flat and difficult to see him being able to turn that form into anything on hurdles debut.

Sea The Stars colt who cost 145,000gns as a yearling but has failed to show signs of justifying that price tag in three Flat runs for three different trainers. Plenty more needed going jumping. Trainer also runs Very Excellent.

Winner of the Ulster Cesarewitch handicap over 2m2f at Down Royal in August, no concerns for stamina starting out jumping and could go well for respected handler.

Camelot filly, made steady progress in 10 starts on the Flat without getting on the board. Interesting to see how market views her now going jumping.

Dinard Rose (7/4), Sacchoandvanzetti (9/2), Guinevere (9/2), Severus Alexander (8/1), Soloheadbeg (10/1), Isotope (11/1), Ozone (16/1), Instant Return (20/1), Early Strike (20/1), Lalipour (20/1), Fassbender (25/1), Top Line Tommy (33/1), Masque Of Anarchy (33/1), Very Excellent (50/1), Futurum Regem (50/1), Recent Revelations (66/1), Ventnor (66/1), Youarestar (66/1), Choralised (66/1), Little Stone (100/1), La Capacite (100/1)

Verdict

Sacchoandvanzetti could build on his hurdling introduction (fifth) at Listowel last month while it won't be a shock to find Soloheadbeg challenging if an honest pace ensues. Severus Alexander was hampered early on at Gowran Park on jumping bow and should do better while Guinevere and Isotope are interesting newcomers. Preference though is for Ulster Cesarewitch winner DINARD ROSE, with no queries on stamina and race-fitness on her side now starting out jumping for in-form trainer Noel Meade.
  1. Dinard Rose
  2. Soloheadbeg
  3. Sacchoandvanzetti
