Won a similar race over C&D at the start of this month - made all and held on well when pressed near the finish - and certainly going the right way. A 7lb penalty complicates the issue but it'll take a good one to get past him.
Has a 7lb pull with San Rafael for less than a length defeat here earlier in October and, assuming he settles a bit better this time, this USA-bred gelding has a reasonable chance of turning the tables with the top one on the racecard.
A close relative of Listed race winner Don't Be, as well as being a half-brother to a 1m winner on the Fibresand. Yard always patient with younger horses and no surprise if this fellow goes on to better things after this.
Cost just £800 and is a half-brother to four winners; including Gypsy Spirit, who was placed in a couple of Listed races in Europe earlier this year. Yard is quiet just now.
A brother to AW winner Aristocratic as well as being a relative of a couple of decent types who were effective up to 1m in their time. The colt made a pleasing start at Yarmouth last month but the winner has done little for the form since.
Finished last in both previous starts and hard to recommend on that evidence, even though he was hampered on debut before he faded out of the picture. Modest handicaps beckon in the future if he makes it that far.
A stablemate of Cadmus who needs to show a dramatic improvement from his debut run here 12 days ago. (Slowly away that day and was never in contention.)
The form of his first two starts is yet to be truly tested but there are positives to be drawn from those exertions. He's a likely pace angle but quite whether he'll be good enough to fend-off San Rafael is open to debate. The betting can guide.

This might boil down to a scrap between SAN RAFAEL and Abwaaq who had very little to split them when they met over C&D in the first week of October. However, the work ethic of Mark Johnston's yard offers a reliable source for improvement and it would come as no surprise to see the first named shrug off his 7lb penalty with another determined effort. Well Prepared is a potential spoiler and, given that he's already shown a liking for making the running, he can help to set a decent tempo if taking another step forward. Kinsman needs to have improved since his debut but represents another top yard so also merits a check in the betting.
