Ran on strongly to score at Pontefract last month but was found out under her penalty last time out. The revised mark leaves the filly with a stiff test under top weight.

First start since last September and needs to prove her well being in her first run after wind surgery and switch to a new yard; stronger cases can be made for a few of the others.

Won over this trip at Lingfield in August but held off higher marks since; might be better than the bare form of her latest outing as she was hampered at the start on that occasion. No surprise to see her bounce back.

The handicapper is relenting after several below par efforts since her return in May but the filly is now on a career lowest mark in handicaps and would be dangerous to ignore. Never yet won over this trip, though.

Good form chance on the pick of her efforts and very possible she'll be more suited to a seventh furlong than the last time she tried this trip. She's a previous course winner (6f, slow), so has little to fear from the surface; one to consider.

Won over a mile here at the start of this month and only 3lb higher so merits an interest as an in-form runner. Bonus that she's a previous C&D winner but the filly does have to combat a career highest mark. (5lb claimer being booked helps.)

Form to reverse with Chitra after they met at Wolverhampton on similar terms earlier in the month. Needs a lot to go her way but is still relatively unexposed at this trip so there might be more to come.

Won on turf (1m, good to firm, at Windsor) in June but below par in three runs since. Her record is now 1-13 on all surfaces but this is her first try on synthetics since joining her current yard; the switch the the AW needs to rekindle her fire.

Won over 6f here last month and worth another try over this trip given her resurgent form. Just 3lb more to shoulder so feasible she'll cope; no surprise to see her in the mix. (Gets on well with 5lb claimer Georgina Dobie.)

Won from an 11lb higher mark on turf last August but been in the doldrums from the majority of the 2019 Flat season. Needs to considerably better recent form to capitalise on the current lenient mark.

Was a disappointing favourite over 7f at Lingfield earlier this month and that's been the case several times since she won on the Polytrack at Chelmsford in April. The handicapper has been slow to react and she's been expensive to follow.

Forecasts

Visionara (11/4), Lady Of Aran (4/1), Kwela (9/2), Crystal Casque (9/2), Chitra (12/1), Javelin (16/1), Octave (16/1), Itizzit (20/1), Elysium Dream (25/1), Reponse Exacte (33/1), Lapidary (40/1)

Verdict

CHITRA is worth a punt in this company as she knows how to win a race and might still have more improvement to come over this trip. Lapidary could capitalise if the selection's stamina becomes an issue, while Crystal Casque goes well at this course and could be another thorn in the side if the handicapper hasn't blocked her options now that she's on a career highest mark. Kwela and Visionara are also respected in a tight one to call.
  1. Chitra
  2. Lapidary
  3. Crystal Casque
