Won 12-runner handicap at Catterick (5f, good to firm) last month, the second win of his career. Plenty to do from much higher rating back on the AW and up in trip.
Went up in the ratings for easy success at Chepstow in July and struggling since, likely needs more relief from the assessor.
Cost plenty as a juvenile, knocked on the door a couple of times recently at Newcastle and should be able to get in the mix on first run here.
Soft-ground scorer at Catterick two starts ago, though since finished behind Echo Of Lightning at Musselburgh having travelled well. Lightly-raced on AW.
Previous C&D winner, went close over this trip at Newcastle after wind operation and likely wasn't suited by the way the race developed back there since. Claims in this field.
Couple of good runs at Chelmsford recently over 6f, has won from higher marks than this in the past so no reason he cannot get involved back up in distance.
Yet to win on the AW but scored at Musselburgh in August and should be suited back up in trip having found 6f on the sharp side latest.
Three-time winner but yet to score beyond 6f and stamina remains a concern tackling this distance. 0-12 on artificial surfaces.
Scored over this trip at Chelmsford in April and followed up at Wetherby over 5½f. Needs to bounce back from below-par run at Pontefract last month but capable of doing so.
Previous course winner, may have found soft ground against him last time at Windsor. Should do better returned to the Tapeta.
Disappointing favourite at Bath last time after a short break but had been progressive before that and should be capable of defying this mark before long. Poor in two previous runs at this course.
Previous C&D winner, scored last month at Kempton and run credibly at Newcastle since. Likely to have a say back here, especially with rider taking some weight off.
Forecasts
Rock Boy Grey (7/2), Scoffsman (5/1), Gottardo (8/1), Our Charlie Brown (17/2), Napping (17/2), Al Ozzdi (9/1), Fiery Breath (11/1), Ubla (12/1), Hic Bibi (14/1), Secondo (16/1), Gold Hunter (33/1), Echo Of Lightning (66/1)
Catterick winner Fiery Breath faces a much tougher ask back on the AW from his much higher rating. Echo Of Lightning will benefit from this extra furlongs while Ubla is considered back over a track and trip where he has winning form. GOTTARDO has twice come close at Chelmsford over 6f and, with mark unchanged, earns the nod going up in trip.
- Gottardo
- Echo Of Lightning
- Ubla
