Placed on each of his first two starts, including when finishing a distant second to the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Mubakker at Kempton (6f) last month; tailed-off subsequently (lost his action).
Took a significant step forward on his earlier efforts in bumpers/turf (Flat) when a 66-1 runner-up at Chelmsford (1m) three weeks ago; interesting to see if he can kick on positively from that improved performance.
Lowly-rated following poor performances in the vast majority of his 15 career starts; is likely to struggle and can't be considered as a result.
From a Group-placed 7f winning dam (Supposition); has shown ability in all three starts; returned from a two and a half month absence to finish a keeping on second to Sandyman at Lingfield (1m2f, good) in August; chance.
Sir Prancealot gelding; ran his best race to date when finishing 3¼L third to Fortamour (Ravenscar a disappointment in fifth) over 7f here 24 days ago; a possible pace angle.
Unraced Helmet gelding; third foal; half-brother to the German winner Amazing Moon (1m½f); from a yard with a decent overall strike-rate at Newcastle; won't need to be anything too special in order to figure prominently.
€4,500 yearling; third foal; half-sister to the Italian sprinter Terre Brune; stamina an obvious question mark based on pedigree.
Helmet filly (4,000gns yearling); 20-1, but shaped with plenty of promise on debut in a Redcar maiden (7f, good), finishing a keeping on ½L second to Lady Dauphin; didn't manage to scale those heights here (7f) subsequently.
Has filled the rear-division finishing positions on all four starts in 2019, including over 6f at Chelmsford in August; essentially rates as very difficult to fancy on debut for a new trainer (formerly with Amy Murphy).
Forecasts
Aegeus (2/1), Extrodinair (5/2), Don't Jump George (5/1), Hill Hollow (8/1), Blistering Barney (8/1), Ravenscar (9/1), What A Turnup (50/1), Jazz Magic (66/1), Uponastar (150/1)
A low-key median auction maiden. Ravenscar flopped here on her second start, finishing behind the reopposing Blistering Barney, although she shouldn't be dismissed as a possible contender on the basis of her fine opening Redcar effort. However, this race could feasibly go to one of the four-year-old's with EXTRODINAIR showing considerably more promise when splitting a Bin Suroor/Haggas-trained pair on AW debut at Chelmsford (1m) three weeks ago. Other possible contenders include Aegeus and the debutant Hill Hollow.
- Extrodinair
- Aegeus
- Ravenscar
