C&D winner in the past and a three-time scorer this year. Looked to be coming into form when third at Ripon (5f) in late September and may give another bold account off top weight.
C&D winner whose last victory came at Catterick in July but followed that with tame efforts, including when eighth at Southwell (5f) last time. Others preferred.
C&D winner in the past. Not hit the heights this season but took a step in the right direction when third at Musselburgh (5f) on latest start. Off the same mark and has place claims.
Last two wins came at Wolverhampton and Epsom in August but well below par the last twice, including when seventh at Pontefract (5f) in September. Bounce back is now required.
Hasn't really fired this season and raced too freely when last seen at Bath (5f) in July. Not seen since and has changed yards so may be worth a betting check.
Has had a busy campaign but showed no ill effects when second in 5f Wolverhampton handicap in late September. Shortlisted for the places.
Shock winner at York in July but below form since, including 11th in 5f Doncaster handicap last time out. Vulnerable to younger rivals in this.
C&D winner in the past and took a step in the right direction when close fourth in 5f Wolverhampton handicap last month. Slightly more needed but could spring a surprise.
Hamilton winner in May but below form since, including when seventh of 11 in 5f Catterick handicap in August. Has a bit to prove now.
Kept busy this year, winning four times in the process including at Musselburgh in September. Not so good on latest start at Wolverhampton (5f) and usually needs to dominate races to go close.
C&D winner in the past but on a losing streak currently, but bounced back when fourth in 5f Ripon handicap last month. Bit more needed now.
Losing streak currently stands at 16 and that didn't show too many signs of stopping when fourth at Beverley last time out. Has fallen to a workable mark however and may have a big run in him.
Hasn't won in over three years and below form when sixth at Redcar (5f) two weeks ago. Tumbling down the handicap though and may have one more race in him in time.
Not been troubling the judge recently and ran well for a long way before finishing fifth at Chelmsford (6f) in August. More needed on ratings.
Forecasts
Foxy Forever (5/1), Bowson Fred (11/2), Tathmeen (6/1), Sonja Henie (8/1), Mutawaffer (9/1), Excessable (12/1), Chookie Dunedin (12/1), Canford Bay (16/1), Little Legs (16/1), Henley (16/1), Royal Brave (22/1), Secretinthepark (25/1), Spirit Of Wedza (28/1), Archimedes (28/1)
Despite shouldering top weight, CANFORD BAY has shown good signs of form recently and has already had a productive season. He showed no ill effects at Ripon last time out and at a track he has excelled at before, he could prove to be tough to beat. Cases for the places can be made for Foxy Forever, who was narrowly denied last time out and Bowson Fred, who has fallen to a dangerous mark while Tathmeen could cause a surprise if coming on for his recent effort at Wolverhampton.
- Canford Bay
- Foxy Forever
- Bowson Fred
