Well bred son of Scat Daddy who fetched 350,000 gns as yearling. Well held on debut at Yarmouth (1m) in April, and again slowly away when sixth of 10 to Dubai Icon in similar event over 1m here last month. Sure to do better when the penny drops.

Well beaten 19L fourth in a maiden over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton when making his debut in August, and ran only a little better when filling the same spot at Lingfield a fortnight ago. Needs this for a handicap mark.

Showed little on turf debut at Windsor in April, but fared better when 8½L fifth of 10 to Inteldream in a 1½m maiden at Wolverhampton last time. Kept on late there, and shorter trip not necessarily in his favour.

Bred for speed (half-brother Rivellino a smart 6f/7f performer), but showed nothing at all on his debut over 1½m at Leicester two weeks ago, and impossible to make a case for him.

Fair maiden handicapper based on the pick of her form, but she is essentially regressive, and while her best efforts would give her place claims, she's got something to prove in first-time blinkers.

Out of an AW winner, and managed to finish third on her first outing at Southwell recently, but was beaten a whopping 21L in the process, and will need to improve markedly to figure.

Race in which she made her debut at Newmarket a year ago has thrown up a host of winners, including at Listed level, and she herself improved when 1¼L second of 3 to Lenya in a C&D novice last month. Can do better yet.

Well-bred filly who hasn't quite met expectations, and had the run of the race when third of 6 to Turn 'N Twirl on handicap debut at Kempton last time. That effort still makes her the form pick, though, so shortlisted.

Forecasts

To The Moon (6/5), Dr Jekyll (5/2), Malika I Jahan (4/1), Exmoor Beast (14/1), Aubretia (14/1), Overbeck (25/1), End Over End (33/1), Gustave Aitch (50/1), Smart Samba (50/1)

Verdict

MALIKA I JAHAN and To The Moon appear the pair to focus on, and while the latter has arguably the best form, David Lanigan's filly is open to further improvement having shaped very well on both starts, and that should give her the edge. Dr Jekyll hasn't lived up tp his price tag as yet, but he's still a work in progress, and will do a fair bit better when learning the ropes.
  1. Malika I Jahan
  2. To The Moon
  3. Dr Jekyll
