Asmund17
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-7| J: B A Curtis| T: K R Burke| OR:  80
Promise in novice/maiden company and produced a career best when third of 17 at Ayr last time out. That form looks solid and proven to some extent with cut in the ground.

Sermonp16
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-6| J: R Kingscote| T: Tom Dascombe| OR:  79| BF
Consistent sort who has run to a similar level since switching to handicap company. Needs to improve if he's going to get his head in front here but solid enough place claims if he handles conditions.

Three Coins52
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-6| J: T Hamilton| T: R A Fahey| OR:  79| D
Produced a solid run when winning a soft ground novice event at Thirsk last time out. Conditions seemingly in her favour and there's every chance she will have improved in the interim (52 day break). Fascinating runner for a yard that do well here.

Stroxx23
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR:  75
Improved from debut to finish placed on his next two starts. Conditions are an unknown here but every chance he can improve on handicap debut.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: P Mulrennan| T: I Jardine| OR:  73
Promise in a trio of novice/maiden efforts but hasn't improved since switching to handicap company. Dropped another 2lb and others make more appeal.

Go Well Spicy14
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: Hollie Doyle| T: M R Channon| OR:  73| D
Won back-to-back races in June but progress halted subsequently when tried in handicaps. This is no easier than her latest assignment but has won on soft and yard do well with their fillies.

Spygate7
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-12| J: D Tudhope| T: R A Fahey| OR:  71
Finished a close second at Hamilton when effectively 3lb wrong at the weights at Hamilton last time out. That came on heavy ground and every chance he can gain compensation here from an ideal draw.

Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: Gabriele Malune(3)| T: I Furtado| OR:  68| CD
C&D winner here in July but has gone off the boil in recent starts and he was beaten a long way on heavy ground last time out. Hard to fancy on that evidence.

Global Agreement7
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-7| J: F Norton| T: M F Harris| OR:  66
Well beaten in three starts in novice company but major progress on handicap debut when fourth of 13 at Bath last time, sticking to the task well. Well placed that day but not ruled out if building on that.

Forecasts

Three Coins (3/1), Asmund (7/2), Sermon (13/2), Spygate (7/1), Alix James (15/2), Global Agreement (8/1), Stroxx (8/1), Go Well Spicy (14/1), Ambyfaeirvine (20/1)

Verdict

SPYGATE proved himself on this sort of ground last time out and he appeals as well-handicapped in a winnable contest. Asmund brings solid form in to the race and finished third in a competitive event last time out while Three Coins could be the main danger to the selection if she's improved for the mid-season absence.
  1. Spygate
