Poet's Voice colt who cost 55,000 gns looked more one for the long term when ninth on debut at Sandown last month.

Newcomer by Poet's Voice is a half-brother to two winners but one best watched on debut based on connections record with juveniles.

Colt by Exceed and Excel very stoutly bred as a half-brother to 1m4f-2m AW winner Cry Wolf out of a dam from the family of cup race performers. May need further in time but few trainers more feared when introducing newcomers.

Twice raced son of Iffraaj improved on his Ascot debut fourth to finish a close second at Yarmouth last time out. That effort probably the best form on offer so considered a leading contender here.

Fair form in two races at Newmarket and Ffos Las but his latest fifth suggests he is probably the sort to deo better when sent handicapping after today.

Newcomer by Outstrip represents yard better known for success over jumps so probably best watched here; trainer also runs once races Chinese Whisper so market will be informative.

Better effort here latest in his second start when fourth of 12 but was never a threat and this contest is at least as strong so making the frame again unlikely.

Beautifully bred daughter of Australia was outpaced at a crucial stage on debut at Leicester over 7f but should appreciate an extra 1f here and improve for the experience. Not ruled out at this early stage.

£85,000 newcomer by Havana Gold out of a dam who won over 1m2f and 1m4f. Market informative but more than likely he's best watched.

Newcomer by Lope De Vega closely related to 7f-1m winner Amandine who was smart in the US. Yard's two-year-old tend to benefit for a run.

Son of Zoffany relatively unfancied but ran a fine race when staying on strongly for third (of 10) over C&D last month. Should be a bit sharper for the run and looks sure to make a bold bid now with more to come.

Ya Hayati
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: W Buick| T: C Appleby
5/2
Dubawi colt and a first foal out of a Street Sense mare who was a dual Grade 1 winner in the US. Will get a bit further in time but a highly likely type on debut for a powerful operation.

66/1
Noble Mission filly was slow to start and never a factor when 11th of 12 on debut at Lingfield. Can improve but very doubtful by enough to have an important role here.

200/1
Daughter of Zoffany was green and always in rear when seventh of eight on debut at Wolverhampton last month so looks a long term watch.

Forecasts

Hlaitan (9/4), Ya Hayati (5/2), Stanford (9/2), First View (7/1), Saeer (7/1), Savanna Gold (22/1), Jellystone (33/1), Lord Neidin (50/1), Bee Able (66/1), Chinese Whisperer (66/1), Spanish Kiss (66/1), Cloud Thunder (66/1), Pinatar (100/1), Lismore (200/1)

Verdict

Quite a warm contest this but the best claims belong to HLAITAN whose narrow defeat at Yarmouth latest ranks him as the one to beat. There are dangers aplenty however with Stanford whose experience of the surface on debut is of benefit chief among them although it would be surprising if at least one of the Godolphin newcomers doesn't go close with the more speedily bred Ya Hayati probably the more likely.
  1. Hlaitan
  2. Stanford
  3. Ya Hayati
