Regained winning thread when commanding winner at Lingfield (6f; good to firm). 6lb higher now and she is 0-11 on the all-weather which slightly tempers enthusiasm. Surprise were she not able to make the frame at least.

Still 2lb above the mark he scored off at Leicester (6f; good to firm) in July. Failed to land a blow in two subsequent starts, but he should appreciate the slight ease in class and he ran well on his previous visit here.

More encouraging signs last time when third at Wolverhampton (5f; standard). That was his second run off a break, so there could be more to come from this C&D winner as he steps up in trip.

Sliding down the weights since March, but not really showing any obvious signs of taking advantage of that. However, standout run in recent months was achieved when he was third over C&D two starts back.

Been out of form in three starts since returning from short break. Another woeful effort at Brighton (5f; good to firm) when he failed to beat a single rival in a five-runner affair. Mark is steadily falling but needs to show considerably more.

Bounced back from lesser effort two starts back when third at Brighton (6f; good to firm) at the start of the month. Unchanged mark would give him place claims as he returns to AW for first time since going close at Lingfield (6f; standard).

Much better the last twice since switching back to AW. Followed up promising Wolverhampton second with a win over C&D last time out. 5lb higher but not yet fully exposed in handicaps so she should be thereabouts once again.

Ended long losing run which had stretched to over a year when taking advantage of a sliding handicap mark over C&D last month. Up 3lb which is fair considering the front-two pulled clear of the third. Should remain competitive.

Last effort over this far came when he achieved a career-best to finish second at Brighton (6f; good to firm) in July. Not as good over 7f the last twice, but could post a more encouraging effort now back down in trip.

Forecasts

Senorita Grande (7/2), Poeta Brasileiro (7/2), Miss Liberty Belle (9/2), Aquarius (5/1), Evening Attire (5/1), Global Melody (5/1), Red Tycoon (10/1), Napping (14/1), Fareeq (20/1), Bernie's Boy (33/1)

Verdict

A tight sprint-handicap in which narrow preference is given in favour of SENORITA GRANDE who can cope with the 5lb rise she was given for her recent success over C&D. She still retains potential in this sphere and is one to keep on the right side of for the time being. After being given a mini break, Fareeq showed a good level of progress from his comeback run to make the frame at Wolverhampton last month, and can go close again off 1lb lower mark at a track he has won at before. Aquarius also has strong place claims after being raised just 3lb for her narrow success over C&D last time out. If in similar form she could even give the selection something to think about
  1. Senorita Grande
  2. Fareeq
  3. Aquarius
