Showed obvious signs of ability in three novice races. Been gelded and aided with first-time cheekpieces ahead of handicap debut which will only help his chances. Genuine player for stable among the winners at present.

Holds a progressive profile as demonstrated by his most recent effort when he was runner-up at Chelmsford (6f; standard). Huge player on handicap debut, and should be able to enjoy plenty of success at this level.

Drop in tripped allowed her to show more last time when she finished in midfield at Bath (5f; good) after a below-par handicap debut the time before that. Could build on that off 3lb lower and has place claims if doing so.

Disappointing the last twice after making a handicap debut which did have some encouragement when midfield at Haydock (6f; good to firm). Dropped 4lb since latest run and has won over this C&D which offers some hope. Wears first-time visor.

Drops back in trip after failing to beat a single rival over slightly further at Epsom (7f; good to firm) last month. Does need to step up a bit on the form she showed in her first two handicap starts, in which she failed to make the frame.

Impossible to recommend after showing very little in three starts in maidens, including when tailed off most recently. Now makes handicap debut with plenty to prove, even if this is a much easier assignment than he has been tasked with of late.

Music Therapist (11/8), Broken Rifle (9/4), Port Noir (7/2), Lili Wen Fach (5/1), Burniston Rocks (8/1), Isobar Wind (8/1), Falconidae (14/1), Shani (18/1), Calbuco (33/1)

Verdict

Those who have experience at this level don't set the world alight on form, and therefore ready preference is to stick with the unexposed trio of handicap newcomers. Burniston Rocks should have fair claims of making the frame after he showed a fair level of ability in maidens. This is a slightly easier race for him, while similar comments apply to Broken Rifle who has shown an equal amount of promise in his short career so far, and should enjoy success at this level. The one with the most appealing profile though is MUSIC THERAPIST, who is getting better with each start & posted a career-best when runner-up on his last start. He looks the ideal sort to run in handicaps.
