10-race maiden, best form over this trip. Too keen early last time and didn't get home tackling 2m at Goodwood. Recent efforts not overly promising and others preferred despite positive jockey booking.
33-1 chance and beaten 8L in finishing sixth of eight on handicap debut over C&D last month. Plenty to work on before becoming of interest.
Improved when close third of six on handicap bow at Chepstow (1m2f, good to firm) in July. Probably unsuited by soft ground since at Nottingham. AW bow, must improve despite 2lb relief.
Failed to improve for application of first-time cheekpieces last time at Chelmsford (1m2f). Needs to show plenty more than has been the case in five starts.
Iffraaj filly, offered something to work with on handicap debut at Leicester (1m4f, good) last month, forcing pace before fading to 6L fourth of eight. Eye-shields go on here, scope for better.
Unplaced in seven starts, though showed some early promise including in 1m2f Salisbury handicap in May (good to firm). Most recent efforts alarmingly poor. Starts out for new trainer with plenty to prove.
Daughter of Derby winner Sir Percy, well held having gone off big prices in three qualifying runs. Makes first foray into a handicap with lots to work on at the moment.
Both career wins (2-16) at Southwell and not behind a mile. Improved on recent form when second there last month over this trip. Not helped by racing from out of the handicap here however.
Broke his maiden at Lingfield (1m3½f) on fifth start in July. Competitive on two recent turf runs but has previously failed to show best on artificial surfaces so does have something to prove in this sphere.
Maiden of 10 starts, handicap mark is sliding down, would have some chance on best of his efforts. Sports first-time visor in what isn't the deepest race.
Good effort over this trip on penultimate start in July at Wolverhampton (fourth of 11). Didn't get home seemingly over 1m6f since. Eased 3lb and one to take note of on that previous effort.
Epaulette gelding in possession of fairly limited ability seemingly after 11 runs. No improvement last time trying 1m2f at Lingfield and now tackles another new trip. Others preferred.
Gelding by Pour Moi, showed little for Jamie Osborne and beaten 24L in maiden handicap at Wolverhampton over 1m4f on first run for this firm. Held again since on turf at Beverley (1m2f, good) and stiff ask in first-time cheekpieces.
Unplaced in six runs, latest when easily fended off in a claimer at Windsor (1m2f, good to firm) in early July. Poor run over a mile here 12 months ago in one AW start. Hard to make case for.
Forecasts
Celtic Classic (3/1), Percy's Prince (7/2), Sea Art (15/2), Garrison Law (8/1), Dolly Dupree (8/1), Homesick Boy (16/1), Capla Huntress (16/1), Eagle Queen (16/1), Champ Ayr (25/1), Waterproof (28/1), Lady Navarra (28/1), Savoy Brown (33/1), Lucky Lou (40/1), Maykir (100/1)
PERCY'S PRINCE put up a decent showing over C&D in July and is of interest here as a result. Sir Mark Prescott's runner didn't appear to get home over 1m6f on his sole outing since and the assessor has now dropped him 3lb. Back here in this lower grade he's worth a chance. Celtic Classic has been in good form on turf lately, though does have a question to answer on artificial surfaces. In what isn't the deepest race, Homesick Boy wouldn't have much to find on his best form to get competitive and has new headgear to boost his claims of a breakthrough win.
- Percy's Prince
