Followed up handicap debut victory at Chelmsford (1m; standard) with a win at Ffos Las (7f; good). Found the 13lb rise and switch to a Class 4 beyond him most recently though, and he is vulnerable to classier sorts.

Consistent sort whose only below-par run came in the Premier Yearling Stakes at York (6f; good) last month. Bounced back to form last week with a fair effort in fourth at Kempton (7f; standard to slow). Could be open to more improvement up in trip.

Certainly worth another chance after failing to land a blow in a Class 2 at Goodwood (7f; good) on handicap bow last time. This is a step down in grade, and he showed more than enough ability in maidens to suggest he can enjoy success at this level.

Has raced exclusively over 7f in his short career so far. Showed minimal ability in three maidens, and handicap debut at Leicester (7f; good) last time out was particularly disappointing. Now steps up in trip, and has a lot to prove.

Verdict

A small-field affair in which both Breck's Selection and Forus have enough to prove on their handicap bows. The sole one in this field to have tasted success is Mac McCarthy who failed in his bid to land the hat-trick last time but should appreciate the drop back in class. Top Buck is one of the major players after he wasn't beaten far in a competitive nursery at Kempton last week, and the step up to 1m promises to suit. However, a chance is taken on WILLA who boasts the strongest maiden form & can be forgiven the disappointment of her handicap debut at Glorious Goodwood. This is a much more realistic level for her to make her mark in this sphere.
