Clearly been hard to train as there was a year between his debut and second run. Hasn't shown enough to suggest he is ready to get off the mark and handicaps after await.
Stand out effort on the Flat when second over C&D in July and that represents just about the best form on offer here, but ran poorly on subsequent start and needs to get back to best.
Did win a Bumper a year ago but form over hurdles hasn't been good and now makes belated Flat debut at the age of six.
Sixth foal. Half-brother to a Bumper winner. Yard, not associated with winning newcomers, also runs The Rocket Park. Likely to need the experience.
€115,000 yearling, first foal of dam who never made the track but was herself a half-sister to winners over 1m and 1m2f. Has obviously had problems but top yard persists with him and has been found an ordinary contest.
Can miss the break and best effort remains his second at Goodwood in June. Ground too deep at Haydock and below par last time. Now steps up in distance having raced at 1m of late.
Showed little on only start on soft ground at Ascot in May. Off the track since plenty to prove though absence suggests there could have been a problem.
Was with Archie Watson when making debut at Lingfield in March over 1m. Showed something to work on in a fairly weak contest then and may improve over this longer trip for new yard.
Sixth foal of dam who was unraced. Half-sister to winners in France and Turkey. Belated debut for trainer not associated with first time out winners.
Showed little on belated debut. Bit better when fourth at Ffos Las (good to soft) behind two have won again since and probably has more to come now down 2f on a sound surface.
Second foal of dam who won over 6f as a juvenile. Half-brother won over 1m4f. Market should reveal more on belated debut for in-form trainer.
Forecasts
Good Tidings (1/1), Hawridge Storm (4/1), Hazm (4/1), Roving Mission (8/1), Manucci (14/1), Its Nice Tobe Nice (16/1), Tonyx (25/1), Dark Seraphim (40/1), The Rocket Park (50/1), Mighty Matilda (66/1), Dereham (100/1)
A weak contest and the market should tell us something with little form to go on but GOOD TIDINGS wouldn't have to be anything special to make a winning debut. Hazm and Hawridge Storm bring the best form to the table and may follow the selection home.
- Good Tidings
- Hazm
