Limerick maiden hurdle winner kept on well in the closing stages of his Flat return at Roscommon when a never nearer sixth of 13. Third in this race 12 months ago and every chance he's improved since so looks one of the principals.

Swiss Spirit gelding failed to beat a rival on debut at the Curragh in June. Hard to fancy after that.

Daughter of Libranno was 16th of 18 here as recently as Tuesday so hard to envisage the dramatic improvement which is needed.

Rating fallen to 57 and after 10 races to date she isn't getting nearer to an elusive first success. Up against it here with rivals rated in the 70s.

Minor promise about two starts to date but 9L defeat over 1m5f at Leopardstown latest gives him plenty to find.
Twice finished midfield in AW maidens for Ger Lyons over 7f and 1m early this year. Interesting for new and highly respected yard now dramatically upped in trip.

Showed little in pair of maidens this summer for Dermot Weld but interesting that Gavin Cromwell has seen enough to pay 23,000 gns since so may have more to come and market may guide.

To say his 3L second to Derby favourite Sir Dragonet leaps off the page is an understatement but midfield runs twice since temper enthusiasm. That said he is the top-rated runner so is probably still the one to beat.

Belated debut for this blueblood daughter of Dubawi out of Group One winner Saoirse Abu. Wears blinkers and a tongue-tie so evidence points to problems along the way; market support would be very notable.

Daughter of Camelot kept on into a never nearer third of 12 on debut in a Roscommon maiden over 1m2f in July. That was a promising start and she makes each-way appeal here.

Champs Elysees filly finished midfield on debut at Killarney in July over 1m3f but having been beaten just 3L she wouldn't need to improve hugely to make the frame for last year's winning team.
King's Best filly who cost €2,500 as a yearling is a half-sister to 1m-1m6f winner Star Of The East. Market can guide but probably best watched.

Daughter of Teofilo was tailed off and last throughout on debut last month at Killarney. Better start can aid the cause but remains best watched.

Tailed off on debut at Naas and little better since when 14th of 17 at Gowran so hard to find cause for optimism here.

Official rating of 66 ranks this veteran of five starts the third best runner in the field and she gets weight off the two with higher marks. Latest effort at Roscommon a little disappointing but heavy ground perhaps the reason; possibilities here.

Verdict

There was plenty to like about AIM FOR GLORY's return to the Flat at Roscommon where he looked to be crying out for further and given he was third in this race a year ago when a much less experienced horse he looks the one to side with today. Top-rated Zarafshan has disappointed since chasing home Sir Dragonet but perhaps blinkers can unlock his potential. Once-raced Lady Stormborn is open to improvement but doesn't have much to find on her debut third.
