€40,000 Battle of Marengo colt. Closely related to 1m winner Droderic and half-brother to useful 2-y-o 6f winner Comedy. Appeals on pedigree, but yard just 1-25 with newcomers here in last 5 years, so may need the outing.
Not disgraced in three in-frame runs to daye, although he's not actually built on a promising debut in form terms. Could well do better now upped to 7f, though, so not easily ruled out.
Slade Power colt who shaped well when a staying-on second of 9 to King's Caper in a 1m novice at Ripon on debut. Better to come, and respected for all this drop to 7f is hardly ideal.
Dam won twice over this trip as a juvenile, and yard can ready a debutant (6-38 since May), so this son of champion sprinter Lethal Force commands respect. Market useful.
Expensive purchase who holds an entry in the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curraghh next weekend. Much better effort when second of 6 to Sir Boris in a 6f maiden at Nottingham last time, and type to do better again as he gains experience.
Poet's Voice half-brother to useful 7f winner Jaleel from a good family. Yard can strike early, but just 1-33 with two-year-old runners at first attempt this year, and that counts against him in this contest.
Homebred half-brother to 2-y-o 6f winner Topflight Princess and 7f winner Camber out of a half-sister to useful sprinter Madame Topflight. Yard's juvenile runners invariably need initial experience.
Has run to a fairly useful level on both starts to date, perhaps not helped by heavy ground when 8L second of 3 to Frankel's Storm in a 1m novice at Carlisle last time. May yet do better.
Homebred filly by Showcasing out of a 6f winner. Yard also has Viceregent, and no clues in riding arrangements, so market may prove best guide to their respective chances.
Iffraaj filly out of a mare who stayed 1m3f. Yard not associated with debutant winners, and others make considerably more appeal on paper.
Forecasts
Hello Baileys (2/1), Plymouth Rock (11/4), Manzo Duro (7/2), Viceregent (9/1), Saracen Spirit (16/1), Onedin (16/1), Heyday (18/1), El Naseri (20/1), Just Call Me Ella (33/1), Top Flight Cool (40/1)
The drop from a mile is a slight concern, but otherwise MANZO DURO makes plenty of appeal, and he is preferred to Hello Baileys who is consistent if not progressive, but bred to do better at this trip. Richard Fahey has an intriguing pair, with the experienced Viceregent the pick in the absence of market clues.
- Manzo Duro
- Hello Baileys
- Viceregent
