Best effort in three runs over 7f came on soft-ground debut at Doncaster. Not disgraced without progressing since, but bred to relish this longer trip, and wide draw no drawback here. Shortlisted.
Much improved when winning a modest 7½f maiden at Beverley on his third start, coping well with very fast ground. Will stay at least 1m, and no reason to think he won't progress again.
Has been highly tried but form has steadily gone backwards since his debut second at Ayr (also placed here), and while he may not have handled heavy ground on his nursery bow at Hamilton, he's not easy to fancy on balance.
Excuses dropped to 6f on heavy ground on penultimate start, and improved when chasing home World Title in a 1m nursery at Ripon last time. That looked a decent contest despite the small field, and he should have a part to play again here.
Failed to progress over sprint trips for Jamie Osborne, but has improved for new yard, making all to land a 7f nursery at Musselburgh last time. Likely to stay at least 1m, so not taken lightly.
Clearly appreciated the strong pace when winning over 7½f at Beverley on his penultimate start, but only third to World Title at Ripon last time, and strictly held by Fast Deal on that effort.
Best effort to date when 4½L third of 9 to King's Caper in a 1m novice at Ripon last time, albeit fading late having been well placed. Winner has gone in again since, so that form shouldn't be underestimated.
Needed a drop to selling company to get on the scoresheet at Newmarket last month, but proved that success was a deserved one when following up in a 1m nursery at Salisbury two weeks later. Type to keep progressing as her stamina is drawn out.
Limitations seemingly exposed, but took advantage of lowly mark when landing a lesser nursery over C&D last time. Back up in the weights now, and unlikely to have things fall so kindly for her here.
Belatedly matched debut form when 2¾L third of 7 to Gallaside in a 1m½f nursery at Nottingham last time. Place claims on that form, but others appear more progressive.
Well held in qualifying runs at 5f, but much improved when sprining a shock on nursery debut at Catterick over 7f. Closed down late there, so remains to be seen how he copes with this longer trip.
Well beaten in three starts at up to 6f, and while his dam won at up to 1¼m as a 2-y-o, this filly has work to do from well out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Walkonby (4/1), Out Of Breath (5/1), G For Gabrial (6/1), Topkapi Star (13/2), Magna Moralia (8/1), Fast Deal (9/1), International Lion (10/1), Clay Regazzoni (12/1), Harswell Approach (16/1), Lady Erimus (16/1), Bankawi (25/1), The Works (66/1)
Plenty of in-form and/or unexposed runners to consider, but Roger Varian has a 20% record with his handicap debutants, and TOPKAPI STAR is taken to defy top weight. Out of Breath has been a shrewd purchase for Grant Tuer, and relished making the running to win at Musselburgh. He can go well again, as can Ripon runner-up Fast Deal.
