Age: 6|  Weight: 10-0| J: Brendan Powell| T: J L Flint| OR:  69
16/1
Returns from a spin over hurdles 2lb higher than last Flat win back in 2017. Consistent performer and capable in this grade although ground is probably faster than ideal.
2

Mountain Rockb120
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-7| J: S Donohoe| T: J Farrelly| OR:  62
33/1
Tailed off twice and then pulled up in three starts for this yard since leaving Ian Williams. Hard to fancy off previous Flat form and conditions quick enough. Wears first-time blinkers.

War Eaglep19
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5| J: Jim Crowley| T: Ian Williams| OR:  69
2/1
Visor swapped for cheekpiecs (worn previously) after getting going too late over 1m4f at Chepstow last month. He's now 4lb lower than sole win for John Gosden with the promise of improvement up to this distance.

Break The Rules3
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4| J: E J Walsh| T: Martin Smith| OR:  68
3/1
Novice winner on her second of five starts but has improved on that in both starts in handicaps over 1m4f and 2m. Stayed the trip last time but likely this could prove her ideal distance. Wouldn't need much more for first handicap success.

Giving Backp125
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-3| J: David Probert| T: A King| OR:  58
7/1
Dual bumper winner last year has yet to make the mark in first four Flat runs this year. Down 2lb and in distance following moderate handicap debut and this is tougher. Others preferred.

Mini Milk12
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-10| J: R Kingscote| T: J G Portman| OR:  60
12/1
Has struggled to make an impression in four starts to date including against her own age on handicap debut. Down 2lb but needs the step up in distance to help find the big improvement required.

Age: 6|  Weight: 8-9| J: K T O'Neill| T: M D I Usher| OR:  45
33/1
Refused to race for the second time in a year two starts back and can be slowly away. Well held over this C&D last time and hard to be confident he'll be competitive.

Brooklyn Boy54
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: Jason Watson| T: H J L Dunlop| OR:  58
11/4
Six-race maiden racing to a consistent standard without improving and a close third in race run at a slow tempo at Newbury in July. Is crying out for a stiffer test and he's likely to get that here. Not one to dismiss.

Forecasts

War Eagle (2/1), Brooklyn Boy (11/4), Break The Rules (3/1), Giving Back (7/1), Mini Milk (12/1), With Pleasure (16/1), Threediamondrings (33/1), Mountain Rock (33/1)

Verdict

WAR EAGLE stayed on too late over shorter last time and this well handicapped three-year-old has every chance, up in distance, to get back to winning ways. Providing it's not run at a dawdle the extra stamina test should also be the making of Brooklyn Boy who's now getting out to a more adequate trip. Break The Rules has shaped with some promise on both handicap starts and is moving in the right direction off a seemingly decent mark.
  1. War Eagle
  2. Brooklyn Boy
  3. Break The Rules
