From a respected juvenile yard this son of Muhaarar returns to the fray having been had a wind op/been gelded. Failed to live up to his appealing pedigree on debut (ran very green; wore tongue-tie) at Ripon (6f); no surprise to see more this time.
Yard 1-15 (0-8, newcomers) with 2yo this year. 75,000 guineas May Breeze-Up purchase out of a 1m winning dam (stayed further), closely related to smart stayer Eddystone Rock. Will probably need some time plus a greater test of stamina than this.
In need of the experience on his debut at Windsor (1m, good/firm) he offered little more when seen again over C&D last time. Travelled with little fluency (beat just one home); surprising if he can make an impact given his form so far.
Yard's 2yo's generally improve for a run these Days (10-89 with newcomers this year. 50,000 guineas yearling; dam 6f juvenile winner, half-sister to 6f Group 3 winner Girouette and smart winner up to 1m Prince D'Alienor; market to provide best guide.
Produced a promising first effort in line with his appealing pedigree (cost €100,000 yearling). Ran on late at Sandown (7f, good/firm) just running out of time to catch the winner; more than capable of winning a race of this nature; leading entrant.
One of two runners from the stable he was gelded for his debut but offered little over 7f at Chepstow. Bred to be sharp he looked slow there and offered nothing more over C^D last time; hard to recommend supporting on his third start.
Newcomer, brother to 2yo 1m winner Nonno Alfonso; dam useful winner in France at up to 1m, half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Algaith. Appeals on pedigree, yard 1-5 with juveniles this year, record with debutants is poor (0-59 last five years).
The only 2yo to have run from the yard this year he looked very green on debut (unseated rider on way to start). That also proved to be the case in the race where again his inexperienced showed; not much more expected here, makes limited appeal.
Second newcomer from this yard; closely related to 7f winner Fakhoor, half-brother to 5f winner Amthaal; dam, 2yo 6f winner, half-sister to useful winner up to 1m Shabiba. Decent pedigree; yard are 0-59 with 2yo newcomers last five years.
First 2yo runner from a fledging yard; dam once-raced (tailed off) half-sister to useful 1m winner Mothers Finest. Unsold twice at the sales, hard to present much of a case for her against that background.
Given a considerate introduction at Newmarket earlier this month over this trip; still showed a fair amount of ability, keeping on at the finish (beaten 4L). Form franked by the next time out win of the third; ought to be involved at the finish.
Yard having a good season overall (4-31 with 2yo) but on her two runs so far this Bated Breath filly looks one of the yard's lesser light. Beaten just one rival home on both her starts, failing to see her race out on both occasions; limited interest.

It's Good To Laugh (8/13), Vulcan (4/1), Mira Star (5/1), Black Comedy (12/1), Abadie (12/1), Modmin (16/1), Alargedram (16/1), Raatea (20/1), Staycee (66/1), Big Boris (66/1), Given (66/1), Mr Jack Daniels (100/1), John Leo's Son (100/1)
Despite being won by a 33-1 shot last year this race produced five next time out winners so it may once again be a contest worth noting. The newcomers of which there are the same number this year (five) didn’t perform that well last year and Black Comedy apart they are a difficult bunch this year to make a case for. IT'S GOOD TO LAUGH almost got the job done first-time out showing the ability needed to win a race of this nature and he’s the suggestion over the Archie Watson trained Abadie. He’s likely to be an improved model after some modifications from a yard always to be respected with 2yo’s. Vulcan (one for nurseries) and Mira Star two others expected to improve this time around.
