No stranger to success on the Fibresand having won here three times (twice over this trip); last two visits here have resulted in victories. Back to form on Tapeta last time (7f) but a long time since she's won off a mark this high.
Well backed returned to the AW (Tapeta) last time when dropped into a basement grade over 6f off this same mark. Appears to be at home on this surface (three-time course winner); can't be ruled out in an open contest.
C&D win came in a division of this event last year off a 3lb lower mark; has won twice on turf since then 6f/7f (off a lower turf mark). Given a nine-week break after his latest success, looked to need the run; remains one to include in calculations.
First try on any sort of AW surface having won last time out over this trip on turf in testing conditions (blinkers used for the fourth time). Off a 3lb higher mark now and by a sire with a poor record on this surface; may find this a tougher test.
7f Polytrack winner earlier in the year who returned to form last time out in a Brighton selling handicap. Finished fourth here on his only previous experience of the surface; 7lb above his last winning mark, others appeal more.
Modest handicapper who merely underlined his inconsistency last time when looking an awkward ride over 6f at Nottingham. Ran poorly on his one previous visit here, not one to rely on especially over a trip that may stretch his stamina.
Dual course winner (once over C&D); last decent piece of form came over C&D (a win off 10lb higher in March 2018). Produced nothing like that since, continued out of sorts last time; hard to recommend even at this level.
Yet to win in four visits to the Fibresand but appears to handle the surface; probably running his best race here over 5f in May. Tries a new trip starting life with a new yard who have a good record here; market support would be of interest.
At home on this surface having won twice here (once over this trip); has struggled of late though on turf (trip could have been too testing last time; 1m2f). Hopes pinned on a return to Fibresand; would need others to falter.
Shaped better than the bare result on her sole visit here (finished second; 6f) looking to need strong handling. Excused a poor run last time, better judged on 6f win at Hamilton (first-time cheekpieces); interesting returned here off a lowly mark.
0-7 on Fibresand with most of the efforts being of a modest nature. Caused a shock when winning on the AW (Polytrack) in May off a break but failed to reproduce that sort of form in two starts since; hard to recommend on his Fibresand form.
1-19 on Fibresand his sole win coming when taking a division of this race last year but has subsequently just extended his long losing sequence. Fared poorly of late on turf; 6lb lower than when winning last year; outside claims only.
Claimed his sole career win over C&D in early 2018 (first run for this yard) off a 12lb higher mark. Modest form overall since then (1-9 here overall) but showing little signs of making use of a much reduced mark; others appeal more.

Filbert Street (11/8), Ticks The Boxes (5/1), Atalanta Queen (9/1), Bee Machine (10/1), Fly True (11/1), Port Soif (12/1), Break The Silence (14/1), Queen Of Kalahari (14/1), Mister Freeze (16/1), Ey Up Its Mick (16/1), Rock In Society (18/1), Quick Monet (25/1), Hollander (33/1), Essential (33/1)
A mixed bag of protagonists as the Fibresand returns to action after a summer break although a fair few have won on this surface at various points in their careers. The winners of the two divisions Break The Silence and Bee Machine return for another crack with the latter being the preferred of that duo. Ticks The Boxes and Fly True have six course wins between them and look unlikely to be far away while market support for Filbert Street would make that one of interest. PORT SOIF could well be the one though to rekindle her Fibresand form having shaped well at Yarmouth last time. Queen Of Kalahari is also worth considering on the back of her one previous run here.
- Port Soif
- Queen Of Kalahari
- Bee Machine
