Couple of promising efforts over 7f on the AW in July and should appreciate the step up in trip on handicap debut following a 9¼L seventh over 6f at Nottingham (soft) last time out.
Finished fourth on both handicap starts so far including when beaten 1¾L in a 6f event on good-to-firm ground here three weeks ago. Notable runner racing off the same mark in this contest.
Best effort so far came when finishing runner-up in a 7f selling event at Newmarket (good) earlier this month. Worth a check in the market on return to handicaps.
Beaten 7½L when finishing fifth in a 6f novice contest at Newmarket (good-to-firm) last month. Market support would be notable upped in trip on handicap debut.
Held in three starts in maiden/novice contests so far including when beaten 8¼L over 7f at Brighton (good-to-firm) just over a fortnight ago. More needed switched to handicaps.
Improving with racing and finished a decent fifth in a 7f maiden at Wolverhampton last time out. Worth a check in the market on handicap debut.
Shown ability in three starts so far most recently when 7¾L sixth in at en runner 7f novice race at Haydock (good-to-firm) earlier this month. Interesting to see how he fares on handicap debut.
First start since being gelded when making a winning handicap debut over 1m on the AW at Chelmsford last time out. Raised 4lb for that victory and is one for the shortlist in this contest.
Decent 8L fourth in a novice race on good-to-firm going over C&D on his penultimate start. Making his handicap debut having finished well held at Lingfield last time out.
Failed to shine in three starts so far most recently when 13L eighth over 7f at Newbury (good) earlier this month. Probably best watched on debut in handicaps.
Finished 4¾L fourth behind Mac McCarthy in a 1m contest at Chelmsford on handicap debut last time out. More needed if he is to reverse that form with blinkers tried for the first time.
Failed to figure in three starts so far most recently when 18L seventh at Ascot (7f, good-to-firm) last month. Market support would be notable on handicap debut.
Forecasts
Jungle Book (9/2), Speed Merchant (5/1), Lexington Quest (6/1), Mac Mccarthy (7/1), Buy Nice Not Twice (7/1), Kentucky Hardboot (8/1), Ten Chants (9/1), Chromium (9/1), Clandestine Affair (14/1), Precision Storm (14/1), Pilsdon Pen (22/1), Son Of Prancealot (25/1)
MAC MCCARTHY made a winning handicap debut last time out and he looks capable of following up that victory with a triumph in the opening race on the card. The selection is taken to get the better of Chromium who ran well when fourth over shorter here last time out while third place can go to Ten Chants who should appreciate this step up in distance.
- Mac Mccarthy
- Chromium
- Ten Chants
