C&D winner last October still has a good strike rate despite a quiet 2019 campaign. Started season well but less effective of late on turf. Much better it seems however on AW so bounce back distinctly possible.
Was a soft ground winner as a three-year-old, and won two more on AW last year, when with Eve Johnson Houghton. Lost her way of late however and tailed off last at Notts latest hard to forgive.
In-form four-year-old is 2-3 in 2019 with wins over 7f (turf) and 1m (AW) at Lingfield and with just a 3lb rise for the latest of them he looks sure to make another bold bid from stall one.
Ran well in first two handicaps finishing third and second respectively over 1m2f before looking a non-stayer upped to 1m4f latest. Goes other way in trip now so that the biggest question mark over his chances.
Won six-times including twice at Listed level but over 5 years now since the last of them. Not made the frame this term in three starts for this yard and again is of little appeal.
1m1½f Wolverhampton winner in March gained first ever turf success since at Brighton (1m2f). Out of sorts at Wolverhampton latest and still must prove effectiveness off this mark.
Ran poorly twice since finishing second at Lingfield in June with latest last of nine at Epsom particularly disappointing. Handicap in range at his best and has right man aboard to overcome tough draw.
C&D winner in January and won next time out at Chelmsford. Handicap looked a touch too high since but creeping lower and has each-way potential now after fourths and fifths here the last twice.
Dual winner for Charlie Hills was 0-12 for Paul Howling but ran respectably on stable debut for this yard when finishing fourth of seven at Yarmouth over 7f. AW form patchy but is potentially well treated at present.
Won at Lingfield in January but form fell off a cliff since with only three rivals beaten in four starts combined all on AW. Very hard now to fancy.
Handicap debutant by Requinto was a never nearer fourth at Lingfield when last seen over this trip in December. Potential off this mark but absence obviously a concern.
Off the mark in maiden handicap over 1m½f at Wolverhampton before inexplicably poor last of 12 at Bath latest. Consistent otherwise so that run can just about be forgiven and he has each-way claims here.
Nine-race maiden has placed three times over 6f-7f but clearly didn't stay 1m2f latest. 1m also a relatively unknown and form not compelling enough to take the chance.
Dreadful 2019 form advertised again when a 22L last of 14 at Chepstow last month. Could be argued he's well handicapped but would be a very brave individual to support him now.
Forecasts
Kendergarten Kop (5/2), Toro Dorado (5/1), Cashel (7/1), Choral Music (7/1), Subliminal (8/1), Makambe (11/1), Highfaluting (12/1), Deleyll (20/1), Vixen (25/1), Professor (33/1), Rusper's Gift (33/1), French Twist (66/1), Kafeel (80/1), Weloof (100/1)
A chance is taken here on CHORAL MUSIC who despite three turf wins seems happiest these days on the AW. Her last six AW starts have yielded a C&D win and three places so back on the surface and below her last winning mark she is worthy of support. Progressive sort Kendergarten Kop will surely go well again with two wins and a second in his three 2019 starts and Toro Dorado is also shortlisted despite a poor run latest after winning at Wolverhampton the time before.
- Choral Music
- Kendergarten Kop
- Toro Dorado
