Won on the turf course in first-time cheekpieces at the start of June; then ran with credit off this mark when third over a longer trip (back here) last time. Still unexposed in handicaps and very possible a lot more to come. Has to be considered.
Won twice on the Polytrack at Kempton last October but not fired on full power so far in 29019; been consistent and probably run to her mark but others might be more progressive. First-time in a visor and a bit to prove.
Modest efforts in two maidens and a novice stakes prior to an ineffective handicap debut last time out. Tongue tie fitted for the first time but another who needs to considerably up the ante.
Placed from a 3lb higher mark at Brighton on his penultimate start but was well held that day and latest run saw another capitulation near the finish. Big improvement required to break his maiden.
Improved since upped to this sort of trip and hinted at more to come with a solid effort when second on her handicap debut at Chelmsford 16 days ago; capable of getting competitive with a similar performance.
Improved on three modest runs in novice company when fourth on handicap debut at Wolverhampton in July but quickly backtracked latest at Ffos Las earlier this month; hard to recommend on that performance. (First time in blinkers.)
Regressed since tackling handicaps and hasn't impressed in any of his four previous starts this season. Career lowest mark and first-time blinkers not enough to tempt a recommendation.
Glimmers of hope in three starts (in handicaps) for his current yard and ran a promising race over C&D back in June; well held twice since, though, and now something to prove. The blinkers can help but more still needed.
Not much promise shown in three novice stakes before now and big improvement needed as the filly starts out in handicaps. Yard quiet at present so only a watching brief is suggested.
Showed promise last year; then gelded before returning over hurdles in June, but two poor runs in that sphere preceded a return to the Flat over C&D at the start of this month. Not much to find with Sir Canford on that run. Interesting if supported.
Modest in handicaps so far and plenty to prove now he tries this sort of trip (mainly raced over 7f before this). Previous AW form has been poor before now.
Winners in her pedigree but not shown much resilience since her promising debut run at Wolverhampton late last year. Behind Sir Canford here in June and a poor run since sees her on a career lowest mark. Plenty to prove.
Improved since upped to this trip the last twice but the jockey had to get to work on her early last time out and she might not be the most straightforward character. Cheekpieces can help and Luke Morris knows her well but risk still attached.
Out of the weights and very few positives to take from three starts so far; hard to see the filly being good enough at this stage.
Forecasts
Ramatuelle (9/2), Four Mile Bridge (5/1), Zappiness (5/1), Sir Canford (7/1), Fame N Fortune (8/1), Milldean Felix (17/2), Padura Brave (12/1), Forty Four Sunsets (14/1), Arcadienne (14/1), Asensio (16/1), Necoleta (16/1), Lynchpin (25/1), Savoy Brown (28/1), Quemonda (33/1)
Not many stand out as reliable types to follow but SIR CANFORD, who has a win on the Lingfield turf course to his name; and is a half-brother to an AW winner, appeals as one who can shine in this company. He's unexposed in handicaps and will appreciate the return to this trip after finding himself stretched over an extended 1m3f last time. Zappiness has run with promise over this trip and also has plenty of scope for further progress; she heads the list of alternative ahead of Milldean Felix, who is respected but already has form to reverse with the selection. Ramatuelle isn't straightforward but could also take a hand at this level if she settles.
- Sir Canford
- Zappiness
- Milldean Felix
