Won for the fourth time in his career when landing a Doncaster 5f handicap last month off a 4lb lower mark. Beaten since and needs more to defy current mark.

One from six starts over C&D and has proceeded to hit the frame on a further two occasions. Many conditions in favour for the veteran in this contest for him to play a major role.

Kodiac gelding, one from 12 career starts with sole win coming from three runs on turf. More recently seen struggling on the AW at Southwell and Newcastle. Hard to make a case for now 8lb lower than last winning mark.

Off the mark for connections at the 12th time of asking when winning over C&D last month off a 2lb lower mark. Still looks on a lenient mark and has little in the way of ground concerns.

Hints of a return to form when finishing second of 11 beaten 1¾L over C&D earlier this month on good to soft ground. Has conditions to suit and can make a bold bid currently 3lb below last winning mark.

Sole win, in 21 starts on turf, came over C&D over 12 months ago off a 1lb lower mark. Very little to enthuse over in the meantime and looks hard to fancy in this company.

Signs of ability in three starts in novice company most recently when fifth of seven over this distance at Haydock last month before disappointing at this venue over 7f earlier this month on handicap debut. Others preferred.

Has been sending out mixed messages in a number of starts in the last couple of months. Needs to put a consistent run together and is possibly best watched on this occasion.

Course winner that has also won over this trip. Struggling in a number of starts since winning at Nottingham in June. Back on a winning mark and wont mind the conditions.

Missed last year, and although not discredited on first two starts back has generally found it tough going in three subsequent runs. 9lb below last winning mark and worth taking on again.

Got back to winning ways when landing a handicap over C&D earlier this month off a 5lb lower mark at odds of 25/1. Deeds Not Words finished second 1¾L behind. Has struggled in the past running off similar marks but not easy to discount.

Stable favourite, winner of three of his eight starts over C&D, hitting the frame on a further three occasions. Would not want any more rain but a big danger running 2lb below last winning mark.

Forecasts

Mr Greenlight (3/1), Spirit Of Zebedee (5/1), B Fifty Two (11/2), Santafiora (11/2), Night Law (7/1), Deeds Not Words (12/1), Super Florence (12/1), Carlovian (20/1), Point Of Woods (25/1), Little Miss Muffin (33/1), Just For The Craic (33/1), Capla Demon (33/1)

Verdict

The John Quinn stable stalwart, SPIRIT OF ZEBEDEE can win for the fourth time over C&D from bottom weight. The six-year-old is on a career low-mark coming in this contest and can make a bold bid ahead of fellow C&D winners who will have conditions to suit, B Fifty Two who is holding his form well for the Marjorie Fife yard and the Tim Easterby-trained Mr Greenlight who still looks well treated by the handicapper. Night Law and Deeds Not Words who fought out a C&D finish earlier this month are not easily dismissed.
  1. Spirit Of Zebedee
  2. B Fifty Two
  3. Mr Greenlight
