Improving colt who scored at Beverley last time (7½f, good to firm). Penalised for that, but handles cut and should prove tough to topple.
Half-brother to 1m2f winner Ritchie Valens, out of an unraced half-sister to 1m-1m1f winner. Stable's juveniles 12% over five seasons, and can have debut winners, so a market check looks essential.
€26,000 yearling. Dam 1m2f winner. Plenty of stamina in his pedigree. Stable's turf juveniles 11% this season (13% five-year average) and can have debut winners, so another for whom a market check looks worthwhile.
33-1 on debut, when well held at Goodwood (7f, good) recently. Should come on for that experience, but much more needed.
14-1 and last of six on debut at Carlisle (6f, good to soft) in June. Has been given time since then, as well as being gelded. Should be capable of better, but probably one to watch this time.
Has shown a modicum of promise in two runs over 7f so far, without threatening. Probably one for minor handicaps rather than this type of race.
Improving steadily, and had run well at Musselburgh on his last two starts. Needs to pull out more to win this, but has to enter thoughts for each-way purposes.
€17,000 yearling. Closely related to 5f 2yo winner Our Diane, and a half-sister to three other winners, out of champion 2yo filly in Brazil. Stable 2yos 11% on turf this season, and usually improve for first run.
Second runner for this stable, and this filly has shown some promise in both starts over 7f so far. Needs to step up on that, however, if she is to pick up some prize money.
Forecasts
King's Caper (4/6), Manzo Duro (4/1), Phantom Bride (5/1), Arch Moon (10/1), Harswell Approach (16/1), Bye Bye Euro (16/1), Two Sox (16/1), Ventura Destiny (25/1), Swift Arion (66/1)
It will take a good performance to stop KING'S CAPER from backing up his recent success, despite the fact that he has to defy a penalty to do so here. Of those to have run, Harswell Approach looks to be the next best so far, but there is room for others to improve. Manzo Duro and Arch Moon both represents good yards who can have debut winners, so they need monitoring in the market.
