Improving with each run and ran out an impressive winner over 5f at Tipperary last week, going right away and giving the impression a sixth furlong would be no issue. Any rain a plus as well, and he's just another to consider in a very tricky event.
Getting the hang of things now and ran out a ready winner at Sligo over a trip slightly shorter than today's last time out. Travelled well there, and as long as the ground doesn't get too deep (which would ask a new question), holds a strong chance.
Improving with each start and his fourth to the useful Celtic Beauty at Naas last time reads well. Looks ready for a crack at a sixth furlong too, and from a top yard, makes plenty of appeal on nursery debut tonight.
Best run of his three to date came when finishing midfield at Naas in August (winner of that very useful) and showed he handles softer conditions at Tipperary when fourth on latest start. Needs more on handicap debut, but that's not impossible.
Placed in five of her six starts to date but you'd be hard pushed to say she's progressing at all, and latest effort behind For The Trees was a step backwards. Hard to see how she reverses the form here.
Best effort to date on latest start when, despite taking a keen hold, he finished off well for second over this C&D. Could do with it drying out a bit more, but on that, looks one of the main players here.
Not shown too much in three starts but did show bright speed here over 7f last time out before fading. On that, the drop back to 6f should suit, and he could yet do better for going into handicaps. Not totally discounted.
Was just behind the useful Royal County Down at Galway two starts back and then didn't need to improve to take a Sligo maiden last time out. This extra half furlong won't pose any problem and he's another with chances in an open event.
Signs of ability on all three starts but in truth hasn't progressed from a promising debut at Limerick and now drops back in trip for handicap debut. Early days so could easily get back on track for top yard.
Forecasts
In From The Cold (7/2), For The Trees (5/1), The Peckhampouncer (11/2), Chrysalism (6/1), Simply True (7/1), Glow Worm (8/1), Phase After Phase (9/1), Not Now Zeb (11/1), Captain Corcoran (12/1)
THEPECKHAMPOUNCER has to carry the weight but he's in form, improving and handles soft ground, so has a lot going for him here. He can win again, with this step up in trip not likely to pose him too many problems. For The Trees does have the question of ground to answer if it is on the slow side, but she's going the right way. Not Now Zeb and Phase After Phase are both worth consideration.
- The Peckhampouncer
