Running ok in similarly low grade turf handicaps on turf and although his AW form is poor, this is the lowest grade he has been campaigned in on this surface but does have nearly 5L to find with Sandy Steve from Brighton last week.

Fair second over 1m here in March. May have needed runs when running badly last month and return to this longer trip isn't a problem. First time visor now goes on.

Generally consistent type at this trip and has one win at this track from several visits. Has been kept very busy of late and claims if that schedule hasn't caught up with him.

Gave it a good go from the front when fourth in similar event over C&D recently. That represented his best form of the season and wouldn't need to improve much on that to be a player.

Lightly raced but much better when stepping up to this trip when second off this mark at Brighton last week. Finished clear of Fair Power that day and was well backed so it looks as though the penny has finally dropped.

Losing run now stands at 34 and another tame effort last week. Makes little appeal from 7lb out of the weights.

14 race maiden who has tried different distances with similar results and needs to find a deal of improvement even in a race as weak as this.

No better for the step up to 2m at Nottingham last time and blinkers have made no difference. Hard to make a case for from 11lb out of the weights.

Has shown a modicum of ability in maidens at shorter and the type to do much better now handicapping at a longer trip and certainly worth noting if any money comes in for her from a stable going quite well.

Poor form to date but up in distance and now wears blinkers so interesting if they bring about any improvement.

Has shown nothing including on handicap debut at this trip last time when pulling hard and impossible to make a serious case for.

Forecasts

Sandy Steve (6/4), Fair Power (11/4), Rainbow Jazz (7/1), Sharp Operator (8/1), Red Archangel (8/1), Dolly McQueen (12/1), Dreamingofdiamonds (12/1), Monsieur Fox (16/1), Malaysian Boleh (33/1), Reformed Character (33/1), Interrogation (50/1), Wynfaul The Wizard (50/1)

Verdict

A really weak contest and hard to see past SANDY STEVE , who as the market predicted showed much more at Brighton last week and on that showing has little to fear from Fair Power who needs the first time cheek pieces to eke out improvement to turn the tables. The handicap newcomer Dreamingofdiamonds is interesting on this step up in trip and any market move will be worth noting.
  1. Sandy Steve
  2. Dreamingofdiamonds
  3. Fair Power
