Ran well when fourth over an extended 5f at Bath (good-to-firm) three starts ago. Struggled over on this track twice subsequently over course and distance however and others hold stronger claims.

Generally consistent sort but losing run now stretches back to 2017. Slowly slipping down the handicap but may need to drop a few more pounds to win this.

Has had eight attempts to get off the mark. Has been well held so far on those starts. Never competitive last time out at Windsor. One to watch for now unless market speaks in her favour.

Only raced twice since winning over course and distance last May - and switching yards - but shown very little on each occasion. Hard to make a case for in current form but worth a check in the market.

Was running one of his better races for a long while when badly hampered at this track over 7f last time out. Had previously shown up well at Bath. Inching down in the weights and holds every chance.

Just three wins in 66 starts shows you he's no win machine by any means, and it usually pays to oppose him. However he has been in better form of late and may be hard to catch if getting an early lead. Interesting..

Likes to race up with the pace but has not shown a great deal on her three starts to date and a tough ask even in this class on handicap debut.

Unplaced in four starts on the AW and well beaten in six starts since joining this stable. Hard to make a case for at present.

Sole win in 48 starts came over this course and distance last summer when drawn on the favoured side. Has not been disgraced on last four starts but his record shows he is hard to win with.

Not disgraced on handicap debut at Chelmsford last time despite showing precious little in her first three starts. Open to improvement but may not be up to winning just yet.

Not the force of old at the age of 11 and the pipe and slippers might not be far off, judging on a few of his below par efforts this spring/summer. Slight improvement last time out and nicely handicapped so hard to totally write off.

Lightly raced but never a factor when 11 of 12 in 5f Winsdor handicap in July. None of his form suggests he'll be competitive and can be easily discounted.

Has never started shorter than 33/1 on any of her 11 starts to date and has shown little racecourse form to suggest she is capable of springing a surprise here.

Verdict

LANGELY VALE could be called an unlucky loser last time out over this course and distance when hampered on the run-in and while he is a difficult horse to catch right he may just be good enough in this weak-looking contest. Another infrequent winner is Cool Strutter but the seven-year-old has been running some useful races of late and certainly looks capable of running into a place at the very least especially if he gets his way at the head of affairs. Veteran Swendab showed enough last time out that he may have once last decent effort in him before retirement.
  1. Langley Vale
  2. Cool Strutter
  3. Swendab
