Promise about all three of his efforts to date and rather unlucky latest when hampered before running on strongly to finish a 2L third at Ayr (6f) latest. Opening handicap mark not a gift but handicaps may be his game.
A winner on debut at Wetherby and respectable runs in two subsequent starts before third of eight on handicap debut at Thirsk. Hot Goodwood festival nursery latest found him out but highly respected back down in class.
Handicap debutante started out with two thirds and subsequently finished fifth twice so questions about whether she is progressing at this point although runners from this yard always feared in nurseries.
5f soft ground course winner in May has placed in three of her other five starts with latest red-hot Newbury Super Sprint latest a rare blot on her copybook (last of 24). Course and soft ground form helps as she now tackles 6f for the second time.
Bath handicap win in July (5f, firm) under Oisin Murphy her second success as a juvenile. Struggled next upped 6lb at Sandown so doubts about this mark especially tackling 6f for the first time.
Improved plenty in second handicap at Ripon latest over 6f (perhaps didn't stay 7f time before) when fourth of 15 (War Of Clans, first past post) but first of 11 in his stands side group. Handicap unchanged and big chance now.
Took a huge step forward on handicap debut at Ripon when third of 15 beaten just 1L although fact that saw him third of four in his group leaves form a little open to question. Still must be considered here.
Had Little Ted (third) and What A Business (fourth) behind him when first past the post but demoted to second at Redcar last time out. Off the same mark the handicapper has given him a real chance to make amends.
Handicap debutante made little impression in three starts and latest two eighths of 10 at Wolverhampton (AW) and Thirsk respectively just not persuasive enough.
Not beaten a rival in two starts since 11th of 13 on debut. First race away from Windsor and in cheekpieces for handicap debut but hard to be confident.
Forecasts
Leapers Wood (3/1), Coastal Mist (3/1), What A Business (7/2), War of Clans (9/2), Little Ted (10/1), Stars In The Night (12/1), Daddies Diva (20/1), Execlusive (40/1), Northern Grace (50/1), Quarrystreetmagic (125/1)
With several of his rivals closely matched and therefore tough to decipher the vote goes to COASTAL MIST who looked a likely future nursery winner at Thirsk before coming unstuck in a stronger race at Glorious Goodwood latest back at this level he should bounce back. Of the three who clashed at Ripon perhaps it will be What A Business who triumphs having won his group of 11 to finish fourth. War Of Clans did finish in front of he and Little Ted even after being demoted to second after passing the post first.
- Coastal Mist
- What A Business
- War of Clans
