Learned plenty from debut third here over 6f and won impressively over C&D last time. Faces a much tougher task but is going the right way and could improve enough to get involved.

60,000 guineas Night Of Thunder filly who won her sole start in game fashion over this trip at Doncaster. Has to find plenty more to figure at this level but is clearly regarded highly enough to be given her chance here.

Yard has won this twice in last three years and is in fine form at present. Landed Lingfield 6f novice stakes prior to fourth in Group 3 Princess Maragaret Stakes last time over 6f. Ready for this step up in trip on that evidence.

435,000 guineas daughter of Kodiac who won well over C&D on debut last month. Runner-up narrowly beaten at Goodwood last week. Close second in Sandown Listed contest last timeand should be thereabouts here on that evidence.

Won Chelmsford 7f AW maiden in June then good fourth in Sandown Listed event latest, a length behind Light Blush. Has to find more to score but has earned her chance at this level.

Zoffany family from good middle-distance family. Won only start to date when staying on strongly to score over stiff 6f at Pontefract. Extra furlong no problem and top yard must hold her in some regard to step up to this level.

55,000 guineas Gleneagles filly out of mile winner. Raised plenty of eyebrows when storming to eight-length debut success over C&D last week, despite missing the break. Could be anything and may go very close if that was no fluke.

Golden Horn filly represents last year's winning handler. Won nicely at Haydock last month on debut then hampered at vital stage in Listed race at Sandown last time, but still only beaten two lengths. No surprise to see her go well.

Forecasts

Ultra Violet (11/4), Light Blush (4/1), Soffika (9/2), West End Girl (11/2), Ananya (7/1), Dark Lady (8/1), Romsey (14/1), Dalanijujo (16/1), Diamond Sparkles (25/1)

Verdict

A decent renewal with the usual plethora of unexposed, decent fillies. It was hard not to be impressed by the recent winning debut of Ed Vaughan's ULTRA VIOLET over C&D and she is taken to enhance her reputation with victory at this much higher level. There are any number of dangers. Soffika looked a good prospect when scoring at Pontefract and represents a top team, while recent Sandown form suggests there won't be much to choose between Light Blush, Romsey and West End Girl. Dalanijujo may prove best of the rest in a fascinating affair.
  1. Ultra Violet
  2. Soffika
  3. West End Girl
