Horse A-Z
One of two representing last year's winning yard. 65,000 guineas Kodiac yearling out of Group 1 Cheveley Park stakes winner Carry On Katie. Looks the part on paper but appears in-form stable's second-string on jockey bookings.
Debut for Swiss Spirit filly, half-sister to modest AW 6f winner. Doesn't jump off the page on breeding and will probably benefit from this initial racecourse experience.

Roderic O'Connor filly out of an unraced dam who is related to a couple of decent winners. Yard 2-15 with their juveniles this season but this looks a tough task on racecourse bow.

Dark Angel filly cost 480,000 guineas as a yearling. Full sister to Group 2 winner Birchwood. Represents last year's winning trainer-jockey combination and appears stable first string. Holds no fancy entries but may be ready at first time of asking.

Sales price jumped from 26,000 euros as a foal to 120,000 guineas as a yearling so must look the part. By Nathaniel out of dam who won at 7f-1m as a juvenile. Yard enjoying a fine spell and interesting to see if she attracts market support.

Nicely bred Sharmardal filly, out of 1m French winner who also placed at Group level. Yard (28% juvenile course winners) well capable of readying one first time out. Fitted with a hood for debut. Owner also represented by Leafhopper.

Forecasts

Thread Of Silver (1/1), Leafhopper (9/4), My Poem (4/1), Thanielle (6/1), Call Me Katie (8/1), Princess Siyouni (25/1), Fair Sabra (33/1), Fluttershy (33/1)

Verdict

None of these have ever raced before so the betting market could prove highly informative. Last year John Gosden and Robert Havlin teamed up to win this and they have the 480,000 gunieas purchase Leafhopper this time. She looks the part on paper, but then again so does stable companion Call Me Katie, a daughter of the high-class Group 1 winner Carry On Katie. Athough she has a hood for debut, THREAD OF SILVER represents a yard going very well, with a good record with its 2yo's here. She is a marginal choice. Thanielle may prove best of the rest, while My Poem is another hailing from a powerful yard.
