Learning all the time in three runs, perhaps doing a bit too much in front last time at Leicester (6f, heavy; 7-2) and paying for it late on. Entitled to go well, especially if settling.

Son of Kodiac, improved on debut effort when fourth of eight at Ffos Las recently over this sort of trip (sent off 33-1), though still has more to work on.

Zoffany colt, looks promising finishing fourth of nine in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good; 16-1) on debut a fortnight ago. Should be more to come and player on that evidence.

Poet's Voice gelding, well held on debut at Catterick (6f, good to firm; 50-1) recently and yard's juveniles not exactly thriving. Others preferred.

A £30,000 two-year-old, Wootton Bassett colt. Dam unraced. Yard in decent form, though 1-11 with juveniles so far this year.
140,000 gns Muhaarar colt. Closely related to useful juvenile winners 5f/6f Misheer and 7f winner Night Song. Likely sort on paper, commands a close look.

A 320,000 gns yearling, Oasis Dream colt. Closely related to 7f winner Supposing and more winners. Trainer's two-year-old's just 1-23 so far in 2019 but looks a useful one on paper.

Unraced son of Tamayuz purchased for 40,000 gns at the breeze-up sales earlier this year. Probably best watched on debut for a yard better known for their jumps horses.

Camelot filly is a half-sister to three winners, including two-year-old 1m winner Mister Jo. Market should reveal more ahead of this first start.

Heeraat had made little impact in two starts, latest over 6f at Goodwood. Up in distance here but little to recommend on form.

Forecasts

Johan (10/11), Rovaniemi (13/8), Always Fearless (6/1), Red For All (12/1), Tamar (25/1), Max's Voice (33/1), One Alc (33/1), Isolde (40/1), Clandestine Affair (50/1), Resplendent Rose (80/1)

Verdict

His Newmarket fourth on debut was a promising effort and, with normal improvement, JOHAN could prove hard to stop here for the William Haggas team. Always Fearless did too much early on at Leicester in testing ground last time and isn't overlooked but the newcomers Red For All and Rovaniemi could be the biggest dangers on their appealing pedigrees.
