Won a small race over 1m2½f in France before transfer to current yard for which he has shown fair form at best over hurdles. Out of sorts this year, and would need to find his old form to be competitive.
Runner-up twice in 1m handicaps in May, but couldn't quite take advantage of drop to claiming company at Ballinrobe (1m1½f) last month. Not disgraced at Galway last week, and this represents a drop in class.
Finished ½L behind stablemate Easter Racer when third in a 1m1½f claimer at Ballinrobe on penultimate outing, but ran poorly at Galway last time. Claimer taking over now.
Has shown a modicum of ability in the past, but not enough to be of interest here, and she ran a stinker on her return from a 6-month break at Cork last time.
Best effort this year when third in a C&D handicap in June, although that was a low-grade affair. Ran poorly at Ballinrobe last time, and while she should bounce back, she may find a few too good at these weights.
Best effort when third in a 1m5f maiden at Ballinrobe in June . Place claims on that, and fourth, just behind Eastern Racer and Commander there next time. Would need to shrug off a couple of lesser efforts at the Galway Festival, but not dismissed.
Fairly useful 7f winner for Kevin Ryan, but he has deteriorated in terms of both form and attitude, and would be getting plenty of weight from the principals in a handicap. Hard to fancy despite his connections.
Like Heir of Excitement, appears to be acting as schoolmaster for yard's apprentices, and while he showed a little ability in bumpers, he has looked very limited in two Flat outings, both at this level.
More impact switched to claimers on last two starts, making the frame at Ballinrobe and Fairyhouse. Visor replaces blinkers on first start for new yard, and place claims if continuing his run of form, for all improvement is required to win.
Won a weak claimer over this sort of trip at Clonmekl in April, but has been soundly beaten in three starts since, the last two over hurdles. Even a return to her best would leave her something to find.
Showed some ability for Jim Bolger, but has not progressed, including over hurdles, and well beaten behind a trio of these at Ballinrobe last time.
Probably flattered by the margin when 4L fourth of 5 in a 1m1½f Wolverhampton claimer in May. Couldn't repeat that next time, and comes here after a heavy fall over fences, so has plenty to prove.
Patchy form this season, and dropped into a weak Catterick handicap last time, showing more spark to finish second to Be Perfect, This is tougher, and she needs a few to underperform if she's to shed her maiden status.
Forecasts
Eastern Racer (5/2), Cash In Mind (9/2), Sheila's Empire (11/2), Commander (11/2), Grove Hill (8/1), Bruinneall (10/1), Oakmont (16/1), But I Like It (20/1), Heir of Excitement (33/1), Measured (33/1), Deauville Society (33/1), You'llfindandsee (66/1), Vocal Relation (66/1)
EASTERN RACER, Commander and Grove Hill all struggled to varying degrees at Galway, but were second, third and fourth in a similar event to this at Ballinrobe prior to that, and are weighted to dominate here. Grove Hill could reverse form with Commander on revised terms, and may prove the main danger to Eastern Racer.
- Eastern Racer
- Grove Hill
- Commander
