Not had many goes at this longer trip but seemed to stay it at York in June when fourth in a big field. This his first go in a 0-90 handicap since 2017 so has to be respected with ground in his favour.
No win in two years but some good efforts of late notably when runner-up in better race over C&D in May. Third at Ayr last time was at 1m and may be happier coming down to this distance.
Didn't have race run to suit in small field at Lingfield last time but has been competing in valuable handicaps for the main part so this should suit with his beat run last term on soft ground another plus.
Rather lost his way in Ireland and only fourth in a claimer for this yard at Chester though return to soft ground is in his favour if bouncing back.
Lightly raced and put in career best when scoring in big field at York last time. 6lb rise is fair and should have more to come with ground in his favour.
Doncaster win in the spring and generally running well since. Beaten by Shawaamekh in June but on the revised terms has a chance of reversing that form.
Group three placed at two but yet to prove he has trained on and now runs beyond 6f for the first time. Plenty to prove.
Landed this a year ago on similar ground for his second course win and now 2lb lower. Below par last two runs but presumably this has been the target and no surprise should he bounce back.
Hit top form at this trip on soft ground last autumn but yet to fire this term and others preferred in his current form.
Proving disappointing and having shown something at Newcastle two runs ago was always on the back foot after a slow start at Pontefract last time and plenty to prove on recent form.
Just the sole win in 18 career starts is a concern and although this slow ground is in his favour others have more pressing claims.
Not easy to predict but has won here in the past and does have plenty of soft ground form. High draw at this trip here not a concern and no surprise if he puts in one of his better runs.
Lightly raced and won his maiden at Wetherby in April at this trip but overall form leaves him a bit to find with some of these.
Numerous placings but just the one career win and mark staying the same due to his consistent nature. This bit tougher than where he normally competes in and others preferred.
Can be a problem at the start and last run was his worst having reared badly. Now tries a hood but obvious concerns about the start make it easy to look elsewhere.
Forecasts
Shawaamekh (3/1), Hajjam (7/2), Danielsflyer (10/1), Flying Pursuit (11/1), Queen's Sargent (12/1), Right Action (12/1), Proud Archi (12/1), Stoney Lane (12/1), Esprit De Corps (14/1), Parys Mountain (16/1), John Kirkup (20/1), Socru (25/1), Von Blucher (25/1), Gymkhana (33/1), Fuente (33/1)
SHAWAAMEKH put in a career best to win at York when last seen and with few miles on the clock for his age and the ground in his favour he can follow up. John Kirkup is well handicapped on his best form and could pose a threat while Proud Archi will no doubt have had this as his target for a while and can hit the frame.
- Shawaamekh
- John Kirkup
- Proud Archi
