Couldn't have been more impressive when winning a Thurles maiden by 10L in October. Only narrowly denied in a Cork maiden on return and gained compensation in a Curragh Group 3 before narrow defeat in Royal Ascot handicap. Could continue to improve.
Improving sort who was only narrowly denied in a Listed race here prior to a Group 3 success at Newmarket when breaking the course record. Unproven on softer ground but clearly talented and holds a St Leger entry.
Won a pair of novice events as a juvenile before two respectable runs in Derby trials at Lingfield and Epsom. Looked in need of a step back up in trip at Royal Ascot last time out and not given a hard time once his chance had passed; respected.
Made all to win a novice event at Wolverhampton as a juvenile. Unbeaten in two starts this year and very impressive at Haydock last time out but will need to improve now stepped up in trip again to have a say against some of these.
1m winner here on debut and got back on track with a surprise 25/1 win at Ascot last time, denying a smart sort a hat-trick. Could be more to come at this sort of trip and has claims if he can build on his latest effort.
Won at Newmarket on his reappearance before a Listed success in France. Took his form to a new level when third in the Grand Prix de Paris last time out and he's a fascinating contender if the hood helps him settle better.
Unbeaten in two starts, winning a three runner race at Navan in good style last time out. Much more needed in this event but should be suited by the step up in trip and he's unexposed.
Won a Newmarket handicap on his seasonal debut and has been running well in defeat in Group company on his last couple of starts. However, no match for Spanish Mission last time out and more exposed than several of these.
Made it two wins from five starts in a Listed race at Longchamp last time out but likely to need plenty more against these rivals now stepped up in trip.
Forecasts
Constantinople (2/1), Jalmoud (4/1), Spanish Mission (11/2), Dal Horrisgle (8/1), Leo De Fury (8/1), Nayef Road (9/1), Cap Francais (14/1), Technician (16/1), Floating Artist (25/1)
A race usually won by a Group 1 performer in-waiting and JALMOUD wasn't beaten far by a proven Group 1 performer in France last time out; with the potential of more progress to come, Charlie Appleby's colt could be hard to beat. Spanish Mission warrants plenty of respect having beaten the course record at Newmarket last time out and Constantinople is an improving sort who should go well, though both these runners are forced to carry Group 3 win penalties. Cap Francis isn't ruled out and looks sure to benefit from this longer trip.
- Jalmoud
- Spanish Mission
- Constantinople
