10/11
One of two runners in the race for this yard who has produced two sound efforts so far (didn't look an easy ride last time). Now gelded he may well enjoy this sounder surface (ran on soft last time); needs to reproduce his York debut ideally.

3/1
Disappointed on his third start after showing promise in his first two starts (all his races over at Windsor). Makes his first venture away from that venue but is kept to 6f a trip that may just stretch him, not out of this; worth another try at 5f.

Only newcomer in the field (trainer 10-76 with 2yo debutantes this year); €95,000 Breeze-Up purchase. Half-brother to winners Steel Train, Silent Romance and Safe Breaker; market may give more clues as to what is expected from him.

Yard having a terrific season with their juveniles although this one failed to match his market expectations last time (5f, Hamilton) when favourite. Has to be respected on his debut effort (fared best of newcomers); needs to progress though.

Twice raced maiden who made some progress on her second start but still only ran to a modest level at Catterick over 6f last time. Had the run of the race there and still finished well held; will be of more interest in low-grade nurseries.

33/1
One of two runners in the race for the yard who is now hooded for the first-time making her second appearance. Bred to need time and distance it's strange to see her stepped back to 6f here having run over 7f last time; best watched.
Down in trip and grade last time when dropped to 6f for a Ripon seller it's hard to see her making much of an impact here. Slowly away for both her starts, this looks a bridge too far based on what she's shown so far.

Forecasts

Forbidden Land (10/11), Hubert (3/1), Lexington Rebel (11/2), Point of Order (13/2), Lets Go Lucky (33/1), Now I'm A Believer (33/1), A Go Go (33/1)

Verdict

Not a particularly strong novice with none of this field having delivered a win yet and a couple will need to bounce back from below-par efforts last time to take a hand. It wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility for Lexington Rebel to deliver a win on his debut and any market positivity should be noted. FORBIDDEN LAND has been gelded since he was last seen and that along with a sounder surface may concentrate his mind with a repeat of his York debut good enough to take this. Hubert also enters the equation but he needs to find some progress rather than consistency to take this. Point Of Order is another who should get involved but has to bounce back from a poor effort last time.
  1. Forbidden Land
  2. Lexington Rebel
  3. Hubert
