Sixties Icon filly, twice won last year over 1m2f/1m4f on ground rated soft/firm. Returned from a nine-month layoff when not far off that level and should be better for the run and dropping in class.

Best three runs have come at this track over 1m2f. Proving consistent barring one run on soft ground and may have more to offer at first try at this trip. Likely leading contender down in grade.

Consistent performer was completing career win number six when scoring over this C&D last time. That was her first try at this trip although it was one in a slow time. Up 3lb and likely to be competitive again.

5lb higher than when winning over this distance at Chepstow in May. Has held her form off this sort of mark since and likely to go well providing the ground doesn't come up soft.

Very likeable and consistent gelding has been placed on all four starts since winning by 1L over an extended 1m3f on good-to-firm ground at Bath in May. Highly likely to be thereabouts once again.

Had been consistent performer on the Flat but returned from a break and hurdling with a below par run at Goodwoos. Does tend to need the run so may be fitter for it and a C&D winner last year off 2lb lower.

Remains a 10-race maiden and ran close to his best when just headed late by Ashazuri over this C&D. A repeat would see him involved but he did get to set a slow tempo and this may prove tougher.

Has been in excellent form recently with three consecutive victories and a neck second upped to this grade at Newmarket. Should be involved once again in her current mood.

Well suited by ths C&D in two recent visits with a win (class 6) and a close third in an unsuitably slowly run race last time. May have more to offer at this track in conditions that suit.

Sole win came in an Irish maiden back in April 2016. Has been well below par since the end of January and plenty to prove at present.

Forecasts

Singing The Blues (7/2), Allegiant (4/1), Ashazuri (5/1), Peace Prevails (6/1), Sigrid Nansen (7/1), Carp Kid (8/1), Fannie By Gaslight (8/1), Jawshan (14/1), Amanto (20/1), Ezanak (33/1)

Verdict

A competitive race with a a number of chances. Sigrid Nansen is in great form and shouldn't be far away again while Peace Prevails has really taken to this C&D and is likewise in good heart. Allegiant is down in grade and has raced as though this distance could suit. FANNIE BY GASLIGHT ran well on her reappearance and is taken to be much better for it also down in class. Singing The Blues is so reliable it's hard to see him not being involved.
