Won over C&D two months ago, but has weakened late in two subsequent starts, and while he's only 2lb higher than for his win here, he has a bit to prove on the back of his latest low-key effort.
Much lower in the weights than for any of his previous wins, and produced his best effort this season when 1L fifth of 10 to Cliff Bay at Carlisle last time. Every chance if he can build on that.
Still a maiden, and handicap record a little patchy. Back to form when 4¼L fourth of 13 to Pinarella at Ripon last time, but a fair bit more needed to break his duck from this mark.
Back to form of late since refitted with a visor, and again ran respectably when 2¾L third of 9 to Someone Exciting at Catterick last time, albeit without excuses. Remains vulnerable for win purposes.
Has run very well to be placed on fast going at Ayr and Ripon on his last two starts in handicaps, but disappointed on soft ground prior to that. Less exposed than most, so respected, but rain would be a concern.
Showed little in two starts last year after a lengthy absence, and hard to make a case for her on her return from another lay-off now.
Front runner who ran her best race when splitting a pair of Irish raiders at Musselburgh (5f) in May, but she has been below form on both starts since, and may be a sitting duck if playing her usual role here.
Offered a glimmer of hope on debut, but thrashed in two starts since, and while she could arguably do better now trying her hand in handicaps, the assessor has hardly been kind with her opening mark.
Overall record is uninspiring, and while she did better when second at Nottingham last time, she was beaten 6L by the winner in a race dominated by outsiders, so it doesn't appeal as the strongest form.
Won over 7f for Ed Dunlop in 2017, but out of sorts at present and out of the handicap to boot, so not easy to make a case for him.
Won two races at Catterick last year (latter a seller), but she has shown very little since finishing fourth in a division of this contest 12 months ago.
Just a poor maiden on balance, and has made no impact of this sort of mark in handicaps. Effectively 6lb wrong at the weights based on true mark, and makes no appeal.
Wears blinkers for the first time, but her official mark of 33 tells you all you need to know about the chances of this eight-race maiden.
Not devoid of ability, as penultimate fifth of 13 in a 6f Ripon handicap would attest, but she ran a very moody race when last at Catterick last time, and may be going the wrong way. Cheekpieces worn there are quickly discarded.
Big odds and well beaten on all starts to date, and chances are that she's just very limited, for all she's only had a couple of tries in handicaps.
Half-brother to connections' smart sprinter Mattmu, but appears to have inherited little of his family's speed, accepting that he wasn't entirely disgraced at Carlisle last time when seventh of 9 finishers.

Lots and lots of dead wood in this handicap, and the well-handicapped SEARANGER could be the one to be with after taking a step in the right direction last time. Jacob's Pillow is consistent in these conditions and ought to be placed again, with Perfect Swiss one to consider seriously if the ground doesn't deteriorate too much.
