Purchased at a breeze-up for €240,000 he had shown little until a promising third at Ayr last time after meeting trouble in running. Excellent chance if building that performance.

Has failed to build on two promising runs at Newmarket and Windsor earlier this year. Hard to assess at present but not without a chance if running to the best of her form.

Had been showing a fair degree of consistency before disappointing last time out at Chepstow. Has tendency to pull a bit hard so maybe first-time headgear will help.

Penny yet to drop with this Exchange Raze gelding and has not shown enough form on the racetrack to suggest he would be up to winning this.

Has lost his way slightly since winning at Brighton in June but has been kept on the go suggesting connections are hopeful he can score again. Slowly edging down the handicap and has chances.

Has failed to build upon his two-year-old campaign so is still looking for his first win of his career. Could only finish 11th of 14 last time at Brighton (7f). Down 2lb but may still need more help. Others make more appeal.

Nine race maiden has failed to figure in six starts since switched to handicaps. Does not look the easiest of rides and easy to pass over in this company.

Had some reasonable form in Ireland as a juvenile but has shown little of that ability over a variety of trip since. Only a market move would suggest connections think she has a chance.

Eleven race maiden who unseated her jockey coming out of the stalls last time out at Epsom. Very hard to make a viable case for apart from fair efforts at Brighton and Chepstow in June. First-time headgear may help.

Verdict

Expensive purchase ANNEXATION can start to repay some of that cost by landing this weak looking handicap for trainer Ed Dunlop. The colt ran his best race to date last time out at Ayr and ticks all the boxes here. Orliko has been kept busy since winning at Brighton in June. He has the experience to give the selection most to do of his current mark. The application of first-time cheekpieces may the spur Charlie Arthur needs to put his best foot forward and he is considered the best of the rest of a poor bunch.
