Has a poor win record, but placed in Group company, for all that has blighted her chances in handicaps. Well held at Newmarket a fortnight ago but eased 3lb and significantly down in grade now and should hold fair claims.
Lightly-raced French import who was bought for €90,000 and made winning start on these shores at Kempton (1m, AW) in June. Only 2lb higher back on turf and likely there is plenty more to come.
She produced a career-best last time at Pontefract (6f) on penultimate start where she was successful by a neck in a six runner field. Not as good since at Newmarket and while handicapper gives a chance, 7f trip raises a question.
Winner over 6f on soft-ground at Haydock last year, not progressing this year in three runs (two over a mile) and failed to fire on handicap debut at York (6f, soft) latest. Bit to prove currently.
Typically acts on this course and over variety of trips but, for all that, is 0-13 on the Roodee now. Not beaten far in third over C&D this month and runs from the same mark, overdue a course success.
Made every yard to score over C&D on seasonal bow in June, though was no doubt assisted by breaking from stall one. Didn't appear to stay at Nottingham last time, hard to get the lead from this draw.
Maiden winner in France on soft ground but has not found the switch to handicaps for tow GB trainers an easy one. Well held in four sprints here this year, mark is sliding and perhaps will do better upped in trip now.
Daughter of Poet's Voice has shown promise in all her three starts without progressing. Last of six on handicap bow at Yarmouth (1m2f, good to firm) recently and drops back in trip now with improvement to find.
Placed at Nottingham (1m+) latest without appearing to fully stay the trip; she had previously opened her account at Carlisle (7f, good to soft) and run well at Doncaster, so return to this trip looks right move. Not ruled out.
Forecasts
Kitcarina (2/1), Arletta Star (9/4), Eponina (8/1), Bell Heather (8/1), Chynna (9/1), Cale Lane (10/1), Conga (14/1), Poetic Era (16/1), No More Regrets (22/1)
French import Kitcarina has plenty scope for better having won on Kempton's all-weather on her British track bow and is respected here, while Arletta Star is likely to bounce back to form now back over this trip. Bell Heather runs this track well and would be a worthy winner should she break her Roodee duck but the one that appeals is CHYNNA. Mick Channon's charge has been given a chance by the assessor and her two-year-old form was pretty decent. Down in the rating and down in grade, this is a winnable opportunity.
- Chynna
- Kitcarina
- Bell Heather
